The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will be hosting a Terrarium Workshop. Participants will learn how to make a terrarium with step-by-step instructions from the Master Gardeners. The cost of the workshop is $15, which includes all materials needed. This will be held Tuesday September 24th at 6:00 pm located at the New Castle Public Library 207 E North St New Castle, Pa 16101. Penn State Extension To Offer Drinking Water Workshop

Penn State Extension in Lawrence County will host a Drinking Water Workshop on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. The workshop will be held from 3-5pm at the New Castle Public Library. The workshop is free. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. This workshop will provide education on proper location, construction, testing, maintenance, protection and treatment of private drinking water supplies including wells and springs. Participants may bring ONE sample per household of their drinking water for onsite water testing to include: bacteria, pH, total dissolved solids, and nitrate. Upcoming ServSafe Food Safety Certification Class

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. — Starting in 2020, the Pennsylvania Food Code will require that the person in charge of a food service operation be a certified food protection manager — and such a person must be onsite at all times during operating hours. That means at least one employee on each shift must become certified.
