Backyard Composting & Rain Barrel Workshop Planned

The Lawrence County Conservation District and the Lawrence-Mercer Recycling/Solid Waste Department are partnering on a workshop about backyard composting and stormwater management. The class is set for Tuesday evening, November 16, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  It will be held at the Albert P. Gettings Annex (the former church) across the street from the Lawrence County Courthouse.  Attendees can enter through the doors facing the courthouse on Milton Street. Nearly $385,000 Awarded To Help Local Students Stay Connected

NEW CASTLE – Grant funding of $383,660 will help ensure students in two Lawrence County school districts don’t fall behind because they lack the tech tools to stay connected. According to a Pennsylvania State Police Troop D Press Release, an animal cruelty investigation report was file in Washington Township, Lawrence County last week.
