Lawrence County Offering Energy Conservation & Waste Reduction Workshop

The Lawrence-Mercer Recycling/Solid Waste Department has announced a new workshop in December.

Learn how to ‘green’ your home through energy conservation and waste reduction with money saving and climate tips.

The workshop is schedule to take place Thursday, December 1st from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lawrence County Courthouse Annex. The annex is the former church across from the courthouse, using the Milton Street Entrance which is the one facing the Courthouse, located at 430 Court Street, New Castle, PA 16101.

The workshop plans to demonstrate how you can make a positive difference for your wallet AND environment through simple and inexpensive things you can do every day at home and work. Simply changing habits can make a big difference.

The workshop plans to cover a variety of topics, including: Energy & Resource Conservation, Making Easy Green Choices, Waste Reduction, Recycling, Stormwater Management, and Composting.

Registration is required and costs are $10.00 for the workshop, payable at the door.  All registrants will receive a compost bin. The first 40 registrants will ALSO receive an energy savings starter kit.

Bring all the plastic bags you have in your house (grocery, ice, ziplock, bread, bubble wrap, etc.) and the county will recycle them for you!
