Spring 2026 Update: Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project

The Beaver River Bridge project is currently in stage four of construction. The mainline Pennsylvania Turnpike lanes have been shifted south to allow for earthwork, grading and asphalt paving to realign the roadway with the new river crossing structures. All four piers and pier tables for the westbound Beaver River Bridge crossing have been completed. Fifteen-foot segmental concrete placements have been completed from westbound piers 1 and 4 headings. PHOTOS: Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project Is More Than Halfway Complete

Significant progress has been made along the Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) as the Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project is more than halfway completed. The $269 million project, which began in December 2022, constructs two new bridges to the north of the current bridge and expands the roadway from two to three lanes in each direction, adding widened shoulders and median. Pier tables are currently under construction on the eastbound bridge and have been completed on the westbound side. HOMEWOOD – The Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) advises motorists that westbound on and off-ramps will be closed at the Beaver Valley Interchange (Exit 13) beginning Sunday, September 8th at 6 p.m. until Friday September 13th at 6:00 a.m. This closure allows crews working on the Beaver Valley Bridge Replacement Project to safely tie-in temporary ramps to allow for the construction of the final ramp configuration for the new interchange at PA Route 18 (Big Beaver Boulevard).
