EllwoodCity.org’s Annual Costume Contest

Due to the overwhelming participation with previous years, our annual child’s Costume Contest is happening again! We will be accepting photo submissions starting October 31st and ending Nov 2. Submissions will appear on our Facebook gallery page for voting beginning Friday, November 3rd and voting runs through Thursday, November 9th. The Rules: 1. Dress your kids up for Halloween! 2. Submit the best photo of your child in his/her costume to EllwoodCity.org 3. VOTE! 4. Win and collect your prize! The top two winners will receive a cash prize. More information to be announced. Riverside Haunted Hayride Starts Tonight

The Riverside annual Haunted Hayride, sponsored by Riverside Outdoor Athletic Renovation (ROAR) starts tonight from 7-9p.m. The Haunted Hayride is one of several fundraisers conducted by ROAR throughout the year. Nearly 200 volunteers come together to create a fun event for the community, and over 1100 people enjoyed the experience. This year, Roar has had the assistance of a Riverside alumni, John Guerrini. Haunted Hill View Manor

Located on the outskirts of New Castle lies one of the most popular western Pennsylvania ghost hunting locations- Hill View Manor. The manor is an 85,000 square foot building that opened in the 1920’s as a  “poor farm” and halfway house but was later turned into a care facility in the 1970’s. Its doors closed permanently in 2004 and remained lifeless until it was sold to new management a few years later who turned it into a prime spot for paranormal investigators, thrill seekers, and skeptics.
