Ho, ho, ho! Santa Claus is coming to town. Frankin Township that is. On Saturday, December 22nd, Santa Claus will be escorted by the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department to see all of the good girls and boys this holiday weekend. The route will begin in Tomicia Springs at noon. Listen for sirens and look for the flashing red lights to announce Santa’s arrival. Riverside Christmas Angel Drive Looking For Gift Card Donations This Holiday Season

The Riverside Christmas Angel Program is trying something new this year! The drive is looking for gift card donations in any denomination to help support the many local Riverside families in need. They can be gift cards for groceries, clothing, stores, restaurants, and anything in between. Local Donation Effort For Hurricane Milton Victims Begins This Week

Less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene made landfall on September 26th plowing through the South, a second hurricane ravished the southern landscape. Hurricane Milton made landfall on October 9th on the west coast of Florida, knocking out power to more than 3 million customers and whipping up 150 tornado warnings. Franklin Township To Host 11th Annual National Night Out Event

Come on out and mingle with fellow community members! Franklin Township will be holding their 10th Annual National Night Out Event on Tuesday, August 6th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Franklin Plaza in Ellwood City. There will be free activities for children, fire safety, CPR training, prize giveaways, and food vendors. The annual event will host approximately 40 vendors for the event. According to the NWS Pittsburgh, Thursday brought 2.77″ of rain shattering a 90-year-mark, and Thursday was the 25th wettest day on record (records back to 1871) for the Pittsburgh area.  This is already the 3rd wettest April on record according to NWS Pittsburgh records.
