Franklin Township has two volunteer openings on the Planning Commission Board. Interested applicants must be Township residents. Please email a brief statement of interest and information about yourself to twpsecretary@franklintwpbeavercopa.gov by February 27. The Planning Commission is an advisory board appointed by the Board of Supervisors to review zoning, subdivision, and land development matters. The Board was recently expanded from five to seven members, with each member serving a four-year term. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Santa Claus Is Coming To Franklin Township on Sunday

Ho, ho, ho! Santa Claus is coming to town. Frankin Township that is. On Sunday, December 21st, Santa Claus will be escorted by the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department to see all of the good girls and boys this holiday weekend. The route will begin in Tomicia Springs at noon. Listen for sirens and look for the flashing red lights to announce Santa’s arrival. Franklin Twp VFD Celebrating 90 Year Anniversary With Open House On Saturday

Franklin Township is proud to share that the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating 90 years of service (1935–2025)! To honor this milestone, the Fire Department will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, October 4th at the Frisco Station located at 808 Old Zelienople Road, Ellwood City. Tar & Chipping Continues On Roadways In Franklin Township

Tar and chipping is tentatively scheduled for several roadways in Franklin Township beginning today. Tar & Chipping is tentatively scheduled for the week of September 2nd for the following roads: Butler, Chateau, Circle, County Line, Emerald, Fire, Forest Grove, Frances, Franklin, Glad, Hansen, Knox, Lillyville, Lookout, Morningstar, Morrison, Nicholson, Pander Hollow, Pinshot, Raymond, Rose, Silver, Stiefel, Tara, Vine Way, and Virginia. Route 288 Seal Coating To Begin July 14th

Starting Sunday, July 14, PennDOT maintenance crews will begin seal coating operations on Route 288 in Franklin Township. According to a press release, crews will start at the county line near Zelienople, working westbound toward Route 65. Once the westbound lane is complete, they’ll turn around and seal coat the eastbound lane back toward Zelienople. At least one state road off Route 288 is also scheduled for seal coating during this project according to the township.
