Franklin Township hosted its 10th Annual National Night Out event Tuesday amid cooler summer temperatures at the Franklin Plaza in Ellwood City. The event was sponsored by Plassmeyer Towing. The free event, open to the public, featured activities for children, fire safety, CPR training, prize giveaways, and food vendors. Franklin Township will be holding their 10th Annual National Night Out Event on Tuesday, August 1st, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Franklin Plaza in Ellwood City. Frankin Township Clean Up Day Is Saturday

Clean up your yard, clean up your home, and clean up your garage! Franklin Township residents are invited to participate in a township clean-up day planned for this Saturday, May 6, 2023. The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. and last until 2:00 p.m. for township residents. Residents can drop off trash at the Franklin Township Building located on Route 288 in Fombell. This cleanup event is for township residents only, with two (2) passes allowed per household. A pass is good for one (1) load. Franklin Township has announced its Electronic & Hazardous Waste Collection Event Date. Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the collection event that is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. The 3rd Annual Clean Up Event has been schedule for Saturday, April 8th for River Road in Franklin Township. Franklin Twp VFD Community Blood Drive Next Month

PENNDOT Announces Country Club Bridge Replacement Project

PennDot Engineering District 11-0 will be replacing the bridge over the Connoquenessing Creek on S.R. 0065 (Mercer Road) in a project set to commence in the summer of 2025. The project is currently in the preliminary engineering phase with the expectation of starting the final design phase in early 2023. The project is anticipated to let (i.e. bids for construction to be opened) during the first half of 2024 with the traffic detour implemented in the summer of 2025. Franklin Township Police & Volunteer Fire Department hosted its annual National Night Out Tuesday evening at the Franklin Plaza in Ellwood City. The event featured kids activities, fire safety, prize giveaways, and food vendors. National Night Out began in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
