One of the Ellwood City Municipal Women House Tour homes, the Leavens household, located at 405 Pershing St., in Ellwood City, is the second home on the list to be decorated for the event. Members of the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce and others on Friday adorned a 30-foot blue spruce Christmas tree in the Community Plaza with 5,000 lights and 300 ornaments in preparation for Ellwood City’s “Let There Be Lights Weekend.” Raymond Santillo, the chamber’s executive director; Caroline Golmic, chamber president; and Jillian Court, chamber executive assistant; worked to decorate the tree donated by INMETCO, as did Ron Freehauf, of Ohioville; Russell Barge, of Wampum; Anthony Mazzant, of New Castle; Ellwood City residents Jen Eller, Ashley Smith and Ashley Jubach; and Shelley Collins, of Lynchburg, Va. “Let There Be Lights Weekend”…


Ellwood City Relay for Life Event

Join the Ellwood City Relay for Life organization for their fourth meeting of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Ellwood on Thursday, December 7th at 6p.m. They will be meeting at The Beanery, 212 Portersville Road in Ellport, (the old La Isla Mexican Restaurant). They will continue plans for our 2018 event, theme is Super Heroes, Who is Yours?, tentative date June 2nd downtown. Public input and support is welcome. Nativities On Display Event

During several days during December, the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church will be hosting a Nativities On Display event featuring over 200 displays. The event dates and times are Thursday, Dec 7 from 4p.m.-8p.m., Friday, Dec 8 from 4p.m.-8p.m., and Saturday, Dec 9 from 11a.m.-3p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcome. Riverside Varsity Softball to Host Pancake Breakfast

The Riverside High School Varsity Softball will be hosting a pancake breakfast at Lillyville Church, from 8:30a.m. – 11:30a.m. this Saturday, November 18. There will be a wide variety of pancakes to choose from including buttermilk, buckwheat, blueberry and chocolate chip. There will even be a topping bar! Three baskets will be raffled off including two Panther baskets and one Steelers basket. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for 55+, $5 for veterans, $5 for children 3-10, and free for children under 3.
