Fombell History Day

Fombell History Day is this Sunday, September 17th 1pm-5pm and held at Lillyville Church of God located at 408 Hickernell Rd, Ellwood City, Pennsylvania 16117. The annual event brings people together to celebrate and share their history. Many find a relative in a photo or reminisce with a neighbor about their communities. People are encouraged to bring their pictures to share. Visitors can spend the afternoon looking at pictures of Fombell and surrounding areas and learn more about the local history. Ellwood City’s very own radio station, WXED, will now be airing the Wolverine’s home games live, hosted by their resident on-air personality, Troy Robert. Police Reports: Gun Found in 2nd Street Business’s Dumpster

Gun Found in 2nd Street Business’s Dumpster According to the police report, on August 28 Ellwood City officers were dispatched to a business on 2nd Street after receiving a call about a gun being discovered in the business’s dumpster. While taking out the trash, two employees noticed a black semi-automatic handgun discarded in the dumpster. They checked the gun to make sure it was not loaded and no magazines were found. The gun had the serial numbers scratched off. One of the employees stated the gun couldn’t have been there more than a couple days because he would have noticed…

Living Treasures Showcases Baby Giraffe

Yesterday, Living Treasures Wild Animal Park updated their Facebook page with a lengthy post about the birth of their newest addition, a baby giraffe! The giraffe, who has yet to be named, was born on Sunday, August 27th at 5:31 p.m., weighed in at 145lbs and stood 6’3 feet tall. He is the son of two other resident giraffes at the facility, Levi and Blue Jeans. Both Levi and Blue Jeans are five-year-old first time parents. YDC Property Contract Terminated, Says Bernstine
