The Ellwood City United Fund is holding a “Get Acquainted Mixer” from 5pm to 7pm at Nico Luciano’s Cafe located at 324 Wampum Avenue, Ellwood City. Ellwood City Area School District Negotiations Update

To provide the public with accurate information regarding the status and progress of the negotiations between the School District and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 32BJ (hereinafter referred to as “Union”), the Board is posting this Negotiations Update which summarizes the Board’s efforts to reach a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Union. The details of the Renew and Revive Art Show taking place at Dayspring Gifts on 6th Street in Ellwood City have been finalized. The art show will consist of a variety of art from four local area artists, including local legend Woodrow Cowher, fantasy photographer and designer Cassandra Douglas, diverse painter Kate Hiser, and multi-skilled artist and designer Katie Keally. Riverside Haunted Hayride Starts Tonight

The Riverside annual Haunted Hayride, sponsored by Riverside Outdoor Athletic Renovation (ROAR) starts tonight from 7-9p.m. The Haunted Hayride is one of several fundraisers conducted by ROAR throughout the year. Nearly 200 volunteers come together to create a fun event for the community, and over 1100 people enjoyed the experience. This year, Roar has had the assistance of a Riverside alumni, John Guerrini. Woman Facing Charges After Spending Thousands on Stolen Credit Card

According to the criminal complaint, Linda Marie Thompson, 34 of Valencia, PA., will be facing two counts of a felony charge of unauthorized use of a credit card. The victim went to the Ellwood City Police Department to report the fraud, stating that Thompson had taken two of his credit cards without his permission and charged large amounts on both cards. One card had a charge balance of $4815.90 and the second had a charge balance of $6995.05.


Instructions for Participating in Halloween Parade

The annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade will march down Lawrence Avenue Saturday, October 28 at 3:30. The parade will start at the intersection of 4th Street and Lawrence Avenue and end at the intersection of 8th Street and Lawrence Avenue. Staging will take place in the Holy Redeemer School parking lot. Participants are encouraged to arrive before 2:45 and enter the lot at Crescent Avenue and 3rd Street.
