Rotary Club Hosts Youth Leadership Academy Students

On Thursday August 20th, the Rotary Club of Ellwood City hosted the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy Students (RYLA) to share their experience and this week long conference held at Westminster College in Mid June. RYLA is an international leadership program eveloped by Rotary Interanational in 1971. This program is designed to demonstrate Rotary’s respect and concern for youth; provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders, encourage leadership of youth by youth and to recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities. 16th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest Is October 3rd In Ewing Park

The 16th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest will be held Saturday, October 3rd in Ewing Park, Ellwood City from 12pm to 5pm (Rain or Shine). This is a joint fundraiser for The Ellwood City Wolves Club, Den II and The Rotary Club of Ellwood City. Combined, the clubs have over 180 years of community service to the Ellwood City and surrounding area. The 16th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest highlights craft brewers, sampling of a variety of craft beers, raffles, auctions and games. The Wrangler Band will be on hand to provide music in the park. Rotary Club of Ellwood City Awards Winning Students At Scholarship Dinner

The tables were packed and the plates full as the Rotary Club of Ellwood City celebrated award winning students at their annual Scholarship Dinner. Students from the Ellwood City Area and Riverside School Districts and their parents were in attendance on Thursday May 21st. In addition to the Club’s scholarships, 2 additional memorial Trade School Scholarships were awarded in memory of Conner Lutz, who would have graduated this year. 15th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest Is Saturday

The 15th Annual Oktoberfest will be held on Saturday October 4th from 12pm to 5pm in Ewing Park Rain or Shine. $30 presell or $35 at the door. Conceived by Wolves Club member Matt Walley in 2010, the Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest turns 15 years old this year. It started out as a fundraiser for the club with games, local brewers, craft beers and food. Rotary Club of Ellwood City Announces Annual Scholarship Recipients

The Rotary Club of Ellwood City held its scholarship dinner on May 15th. Seniors from Ellwood City and Riverside and their families celebrated with the Rotarians. This year, the Club awarded 6 educational scholarship- totaling $6000.00 In the past, the scholarships were directed at 4-year and 2- year academics. Recognizing a change in student career choices, the Rotary Scholarship Committee added an additional Scholarship to support those who are going into the Trades. Rotary Club Invites You To An Evening With Award-Winning Author, Ed Prence

The Rotary Club of Ellwood City invites you to an evening with Ed Prence. The event is scheduled to take place Thursday, January 18th at 7:00pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church Sanctuary (207 Spring Avenue, Ellwood City). Local Koppel native, amateur baseball player and award winning author, Ed Prence will be giving a book talk on his second book “Last of the Rockland Boys“. Wolves Club Presents Oktoberfest Donations

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 met on Wednesday, November 8th at the Connequenessing Country Club. During the meeting the recent Oktoberfest was reported on by Chairman Dennis Boariu. The Club provided a donation of $2,000.00 from the Oktoberfest proceeds to the Ellwood City Volunteer Fire Department for their Advance Life Support (ALS) Unit. The Wolves Club also provided donations from the Oktoberfest proceeds to the Ellwood City Lions and Ellwood City Rotary. Each club was represented at the Oktoberfest. Ellwood City Oktoberfest Tickets Now On Sale

The Ellwood City Oktoberfest Tickets are now on sale. Oktoberfest, a partnership of community organizations, is in its 13th year and will take place on Saturday, October 7th in Ewing Park. The Wolves Club, Rotary Club of Ellwood City and the Ellwood City Lions fundraiser highlights craft brewers, sampling of a variety of craft beers, raffles, auctions and games. Rotary Club of Ellwood City Delivers Water to East Palestine

The Rotary Club of Ellwood City delivered three pallets of bottled water on Friday to East Palestine, Ohio. The club is now sponsoring a community-wide initiative in conjunction with Tomon Funeral Home and Trinity Lutheran Church to collect other items the residents need. Items needed include bottled water, paper towels, white vinegar, bleach-free cleaning products, Dawn dish soap, laundry detergent, rolls of quarters, personal care items, dog and cat food.
