Borough Awards Waste Removal Bid

Ellwood City Borough Council awarded the bid for collection of refuse, recycling, and yard waste to Valley Waste during Monday’s meeting. Borough Manager David Allen said garbage has been on the top of his priority list since he arrived in his position at the borough a little more than two years ago. Borough Council Awards Paving Project; Releases List of Roadways

Ellwood City Borough Council voted unanimously Monday evening to award the bid for the 2021 paving program. The winning bid came from Youngblood Paving of Wampum in the amount of $372,111.24. The amount will be paid from the Liquid Fuel Fund. Ellwood City Borough Council to Meet Tonight

Ellwood City Borough Council will meet in person tonight, April 12, at 5:45 for a special meeting where council will consider a motion order to award the bid for the 2021 Paving Program to Youngblood Paving (Wampum, PA) in the amount of $372,111.24. Ellwood City Borough Council met Monday night. Borough Manager, David Allen, accounced that trash proposals are up for bid and a Park Manager position is available. Trash Collection Proposal, Code Enforcement Priorities for Borough Officials

During Ellwood City Borough Council’s February 15 meeting, Borough Manager David Allen said he is continuing to work on a proposal for trash collection. “I am confident we will be able to meet the needs of all of our citizens,” he said. Allen also said although there has not been any court cases related to code enforcement in the borough because of COVID, officials are still keeping their eyes open for violations. Ellwood City Borough Council to Advertise Bids for Waste Collection

Trash was the top topic at Ellwood City’s Borough Council meeting Monday night. Council voted to advertise bids for the collection of refuse, recycling, and yard waste. Borough Manager David Allen said this is just the bidding process and that a final decision as to the process and collection company will come later. Before voting to allow the bidding process, Councilwoman Lisa Guererra requested that officials take into consideration the concerns and needs of all community members including the ones who like the bags, who don’t like the bags, and those who pay to have their own dumpsters.
