Lent Fish Fry Season Is Here! Divine Grace Parish will host a fish fry on Ash Wednesday, February 18th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Center, 311 Lawrence Avenue, Ellwood City. Come enjoy golden fried or bake fish, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and a slice of cake. Dine in or take out. Dinners are $16, Sandwiches are $10, and extra sides are $3. Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church Holy Name Society recently hosted a picnic and new member drive. Holy Name Society president, Frank Aloi welcomed the attendees and guests at the picnic, which included the seven most recent HNS members in attendance. On Sunday, June 1, 2025, Divine Grace Parish’s Holy Name Society gathered for the annual Altar Server Appreciation Tribute at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. It was a morning brimming with joy, celebration, and gratitude at the 9 a.m. Mass. Attendance at that Mass included the parish’s parishioners, the four honored senior high school altar servers and their parents along with over 50 plus Holy Name Society members who, along with the parish, sponsors the appreciation tribute. Riverside Lions Club Provides Community Support Updates

The Riverside Lions Club continues its community support through various programs and donations. The club offers a series of updates below spotlighting their recent efforts: The club started off the new segment by participating in a District Soup Assembly. Under the supervision of PDG’s Jeff and Maria Laudermilk (Riverside/Hopewell Lions) members from different clubs in the District met at the Butler Blind Association to assemble the equivalent of 9000 dry soup meals. A Lenten Morning of Reflection was coordinated by the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Name Society (HNS) on Saturday, March 1st. Appropriately, that service was held four days prior to Ash Wednesday March 5th which marks the beginning of the Lenten season and the first day of the liturgical season of Lent. Community Baby Shower To Be Hosted By Divine Grace Parish

A FREE community baby shower will be hosted by Divine Grace Parish (Holy Redeemer) in April. The shower is taking place on Sunday, April 14th at St Ferdinand Church in Cranberry Township. Pregnant and new moms in need of items are encourages to attend this event scheduled to take place from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. The event features welcome gifts, raffles, appetizers and dessert, informational speakers, great giveaways, and community resources.  Need babysitting? EC Wolves Club Den Provides Donations

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II met on Wednesday January 10, 2024 at the Connequenessing Country Club. At the meeting they presented a donation of $500 to the Ellwood City Meals on Wheels Program. Director Terry Crespo thanked the Wolves Club for their continued support of the important community program where thirty citizens receive meals Monday through Friday. Due to donations like theirs the program has not had to raise the costs to the participants. Wolves Club members serve as drivers and meal preparers. There is a need for drivers to deliver the meals. Mayor Anthony J. Court proudly presented a proclamation to Divine Grace Ministerium Social Services and Food Bank on Wednesday, June 14th. Divine Grace is a ministry to feed and give aid to less fortunate. “They have provided outstanding service and dedication to our community for over 30 years,” said Mayor Court in an emailed statement. Knights Of Columbus Provided Donation To Divine Grace

The Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 11389 provided a $500 donation to the Divine Grace Ministerium Social Services this week Pictured below and receiving the check are Jan Baur and Cathy DeBlaso, co-directors of Social Services. Hank Glogowski, Grand Knight and Social Services Volunteer is on the right.
