TRAVEL ADVISORY: PA Turnpike Beaver Valley Interchange Eastbound Exit to Temporarily Close

BEAVER COUNTY —Travelers are advised that construction crews will be temporarily closing the eastbound exit at the Beaver Valley Interchange (Exit 13) of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76) this coming weekend. The exit ramp will be closed, weather permitting, starting at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. The closure is necessary to allow for the construction of a temporary on and off-ramp so work can continue as part of the ongoing Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project. Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing improvement work on the Route 65 bridge over Route 422 (US 422/Benjamin Franklin Highway) in Shenango Township, Lawrence County will begin Monday, March 27 weather permitting. Single-lane and shoulder restrictions will occur on Route 422 under the Route 65 bridge weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through late May. Crews will conduct bridge rehabilitation work. PennDOT District 11 is announcing the closure of a portion of Mercer Road (Route 1006) in Franklin Township, Beaver County, will begin Wednesday, November 16 weather permitting. A portion of Mercer Road will close to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning continuously through Friday afternoon, November 25. Crews will conduct roadway repair work under the railroad bridge located between Burke Street and Harmony Fisher Avenue. Mercer Road will close to through traffic. Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing the reopening of a section of Zelienople Road (Route 288) in Franklin Township, Beaver County, will occur Thursday, November 4 weather permitting. A section of Zelienople Road between Lake Road and Old Furnace Road is expected to reopen to traffic by 5 p.m. Thursday. Barring any unforeseen field issues, the realignment and construction of Route 288 near the Zelienople Airport in on track for completion as scheduled. The roadway is currently closed and under detour as part of a 102-day closure for the realignment project. According to PENNDOT spokesperson Steve Cowan, the contractor anticipates completing the work within the contract parameters. According to a news release made available this week, a three-week closure is needed for resurfacing project at the Beaver Valley Interchange on PA Turnpike. The release reads as follows: The Pennsylvania Turnpike is alerting motorists of a three-week closure of the Beaver Valley Interchange, Exit #13, in Beaver County.
