Single-Lane Alternating Traffic Restrictions In Place On Route 65 Bridge Over the Connoquenessing Creek

Preparatory work of the Route 65 bridge over the Connoquenessing Creek in North Sewickley and Franklin townships, Beaver County has commenced. Single-lane alternating traffic restrictions controlled by flaggers will occur on Route 65 between Country Club Road and Mercer Road (Route 1006) weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM through mid-September. Crews from Swank Construction Company will conduct predrilling and installation of bridge foundation work in preparation for the full closure expected to occur mid to late September. Country Club Bridge Replacement Project To Begin October 2025

The Route 65 Country Club Bridge Replacement project over Connoquenessing Creek will begin in October 2025 in North Sewickley and Franklin Townships, Beaver County. Improvements include removal of the existing poor condition three-span non-composite steel multigirder structure built in 1976, construction of a two-span steel plate girder bridge using Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques, and full depth pavement reconstruction along approximately 850 feet of SR 65 and 180 feet of SR 1006 (Mercer Road). PENNDOT Announces Country Club Bridge Replacement Project

PennDot Engineering District 11-0 will be replacing the bridge over the Connoquenessing Creek on S.R. 0065 (Mercer Road) in a project set to commence in the summer of 2025. The project is currently in the preliminary engineering phase with the expectation of starting the final design phase in early 2023. The project is anticipated to let (i.e. bids for construction to be opened) during the first half of 2024 with the traffic detour implemented in the summer of 2025.
