Koppel Bridge To Close In August

According to PA Department of Transportation officer Steve Cowan, a tentative closure date of the current 102-year-old Koppel Bridge is scheduled for August 13. The closure is for 72 consecutive days. “During this time we will be constructing a retaining wall and doing approach roadway grading, drainage, paving, guide rail, line painting, any remaining bridge work, some demo to the old structure and planting/seeding work,” said Cowan in email. Koppel Bridge Replacement Project On Target, Detour Scheduled This Summer

According to PENNDOT Press Officer Steve Cowan, the $27.58 million dollar Koppel Bridge replacement project is progressing well. “Crews have one half of the deck rebar tied and are working on the other half of the bridge,” said Cowan via email. “Deck placement work should begin in early May.” An approximate three-month closure of both bridges and detour will occur from the late summer through the fall of 2019 when the new bridge and roadway will open. “Depending on several factors, the contractor is anticipating the detour to begin between July 17th and July 31st,” said Cowan. Route 351 Koppel Bridge Traffic Stoppages begin Monday

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing traffic stoppages on the Koppel Bridge (Route 351) in Koppel Borough and North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, will begin Monday, December 3 weather permitting. Traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Koppel Bridge through Tuesday, January 15. Crews from Brayman Construction will conduct steel erection for the new bridge from the existing structure. Motorists should expect delays. Construction is continuing on the $27.58 million Route 351 Koppel Bridge replacement project according to PA Department of Transportation Press Officer Steve Cowan.
