Bernstine Announces $460,000 to Improve Drinking Water in Wampum

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) announced today that $460,000 in state funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PennVEST) will allow Wampum Borough in Lawrence County to move forward with its plans to improve municipal drinking water. “The quality of water in Wampum has been an issue for many years,” Bernstine said. “I was happy to work with the local elected officials, as well as the state, to expedite the process of this grant. Family literacy programs can provide opportunities for education success for parents and children.  These programs can serve as models of family involvement, showing how families can become part of an extended classroom and build on the work of the school.  Engagement in family programs does not have to stop because a parent is incarcerated. Riverside Panthers Varsity Takes Some Time To Pull Away From New Brighton

Riverside Panthers Varsity and New Brighton played a taut affair on Thursday, but Riverside Panthers Varsity eventually prevailed 7-4 after taking the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at two with Riverside Panthers Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Cristian Cicchinelli singled off of Debo, driving in one run. 2017: Predictably Bad Year for Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease is spreading wildly across eastern America, with Pennsylvania leading the nation for the most reported cases. Last years numbers were a skyrocketing 12,000+ cases – almost half of the entire reported yearly cases in the USA and three times the amount of the runner up state, New York.
