American Legion World War II Ceremony This Sunday

Ellwood City’s American Legion J. Wilbur Randolph Post 157 will recognize the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II with a poignant ceremony to honor the 126 men from the Ellwood City area who paid the ultimate price for freedom. The ceremony will include an Honor Roll and an Honor Guard Salute. Period music will be performed featuring the Sanctuary Jazz Band. Life Scout Completes Veterans Memorial Day Project

Life Scout Quinn Smith recently completed an Eagle Scout project that helped showcase a remembrance and reflection that the Memorial Day holiday honors. As part of Troop 806 in Ellwood City, the 17-year-old Lincoln High School Junior set out to check every grave – over 8,600 of them in two Lawrence County cemeteries, Pleasant Hill & Locust Grove, – against the roster of over 1,500 deceased Lawrence & Beaver County Veterans buried there. The Wampum American Legion is starting it’s all-you-can-eat Breakfast event again on Saturday, February 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event is scheduled to take place at the Legion club located at 436 Beaver Street, Wampum, PA 16157. The menu features scrambled eggs, home fries, french toast, sausage, biscuits & gravy, bacon, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice. Ellwood City Wolves Den Honors American Legion Post 157

The Ellwood City Wolves Den II met on Wednesday, September 14th and honored American Legion Post 157 with their Pro Bono Publico Award. American Legion Post 157 was instrumental in bringing the half size replica of the Vietnam War Memorial, “The Moving Wall”, back to Ellwood City on August 18 through August 21, 2022. After a summer break, the Wampum American Legion Post 749 will be hosting its next All You Can Eat Breakfast on Saturday, September 17th. The group took a break in July and August and are back to serving breakfast for the community. September’s breakfast will be hosted at the Wampum American Legion Club, 436 Beaver Street, Wampum, PA. American Legion & Military Veterans Honor Guard To Host Military Funeral Service

The Ellwood City American Legion Post 157 and The Beaver and Lawrence Counties Military Veterans Honor Guard will host a military funeral service for those Ellwood City area veterans, who because of the pandemic were unable to have the service at their funeral. The program will be held at the Folino Shelter in Ewing Park, Ellwood City on Sunday, September 19th at 2:00 PM.
