Stang Leads Lady Panthers in Win Over Beaver Falls

Senior Katie Stang seized the win for Riverside in a conference home game against Beaver Falls yesterday. Both teams were initially bogged down. The first quarter ended only 5-5, with many missed shots between the teams. By the end of the game, the Lady Panthers had collectively missed 36 of 76 shots. However, Riverside was making enough shots to pull ahead by the second quarter, with Stang leading the way. Man Assaults Woman Over Christmas Lights and Throws Christmas Tree Out of Window According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 8 at approximately 2 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance on First Street. The victim stated that after drinking at the Keystone Bar, her boyfriend, Robert Mulig, 58, of Ellwood City had gone to bed. The Lady Wolverines earned their first wins of the season in two non-conference games. On Monday, Ellwood City hosted Union, thrashing them 50-3. They followed that with another home win yesterday against Knoch with a score of 40-34. Against Union, Ellwood’s quintuple of seniors could not be stopped, scoring 48 of the team’s points. The new Ellwood City Borough website launched yesterday, providing residents with a more engaging and informative online resource. Currently, the old website is still functional, though the homepage should soon have a redirect link to the new website. A quick comparison between the old and new reveals why it was time for change. Unusually Warm Thanksgiving Increases Gobbler’s Gallop Turnout

There’s nothing like a good early morning run to work up a turkey appetite. For twenty years, the Gobbler’s Gallop, held at Riverside schools, has made people earn their turkey with a vigorous and usually cold race. This year, winter has been a little late and a higher than average number of runners signed up, taking advantage of the warm and sunny day. Rosemary LeClair Kaskie, 92, of Leesburg, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, in the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, Pa. Rosemary was born on Feb. 25, 1923, in Denver, Colo., to the late Henry Paul, Sr. and Emma Marie O’Brien LeClair. She graduated from College with an associate’s degree. She worked for the Smythe Cramer Realty Agency in Cleveland for 27 years as a real estate agent. While living in Florida, Rosemary served as a Eucharistic Minister for her church. Annual Municipal Woman’s Club Christmas House Tour

The Ellwood City Municipal Woman’s Club 29th annual Christmas House Tour runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Five houses in Ellwood and the surrounding area are featured.
