Jackson Kerr scored a career high 21 points to lead Ellwood City to its Riv-Ell Cup victory over Riverside Tuesday night. The Wolverines raced out ahead early and poured in eight three pointers in the contest as they cruised to the 84-59 victory. Gabriella Finch and Delana Fox each scored 10 points to lead the Lady Panthers to a narrow 40-37 Riv-Ell victory over Ellwood City Monday night at Lincoln High School. All five starters scored for Riverside in its victory. Aaron Lake scored 12 points and Chuckie Schweinsberg connected on two critical fourth quarter 3-pointers to lead Ellwood City to a 35-32 rivalry victory over Riverside Tuesday evening at Lincoln High School. Ellwood City Women’s Network hosted their 8th annual Girls Night Out on Wednesday, November 20th at Shakespeares Restaurant. The networking event featured craft vendors, a Chinese auction, and 50/50 and entertainment by Vaughn Hudspath and others. All proceeds are donated to The Divine Grace Ministerium Food Bank which helps all those in need throughout Ellwood City and beyond. The unbeaten Wolverines season came to an end Friday night as Ellwood City was defeated by South Park 28-7 in the WPIAL Class 2A semifinals at North Allegheny High School. After gaining and early advantage the Wolverines were torched by chunk plays by the #2 seeded Eagles rushing attack who posted a resounding 376 yards rushing in its victory. Elijah Palmer-McCane tallied 150 yards of total offense and accounted for both Ellwood City scores Friday night as the Wolverines survived a scare from #6 South Allegheny and escaped with a 13-12 quarterfinals victory in the WPIAL Class 2A playoffs. Members of the Ellwood City Art Club took to the sidewalks of Lawrence Avenue this week and gave some colorful splashes of paint to merchant windows. Students painted many business windows with some blue and white, and some green and white, to show spirit for the high school football playoffs. The annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade took place Saturday afternoon along Lawrence Avenue in downtown Ellwood City. Thousands flocked to the sidewalks to watch and collect candy tossed from the many floats and participants in the parade. The Borough of Ellwood City modified its Trick or Treat schedule for this year, announcing it would take place Saturday evening after the parade. DON’T FORGET!
