PHOTOS: Riverside Falls To Mohawk 35-24 On Senior Night

In a high-scoring section affair, Riverside fell to Mohawk 35-24 to wrap up its regular season. Mohawk quarterback Bobby Fadden accounted for five offensive touchdowns for the Warriors while Panthers quarterback Aiden Gaydosz tossed three touchdowns in defeat. Each quarterback was incredibly accurate and the teams compiled over 700 yards of offense collectively. Talk about a high five! Senior Tyler Smiley went to the air and tossed five touchdown passes Friday Night as Ellwood City routed Riverside 48-14 on Senior Night. The quarterback connected with four different receivers on touchdown strikes with wideout DaiLonn Currie being the recipient of two. Unbeaten Western Beaver (7-0, 4-0 Section 2A-2) knocked off host Ellwood City 29-12 Friday night at Helling Stadium. Sydney Woodhead was crowned homecoming queen at halftime. Jackson Kerr was crowned Homecoming King at a pep rally on Thursday. Standout junior running back Wyatt Sparbanie went down with an injury in the first quarter but the visiting Golden Beavers leaned on two additional supplies of offensive in the conference victory. Mason Holler rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as Riverside beat Freedom 37-7 on homecoming. Isabella Hall was named Riverside Homecoming Queen at halftime. Wideout Hunter Garcia hauled in five receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown to spark the Panthers offense. Garcia opened up the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run as part of his two-touchdown evening. Lincoln High School held its Homecoming pep rally Thursday in the large gymnasium. Jackson Kerr was crowned Homecoming King. Dom Hogue was runner-up. The King’s Court was comprised of Anthony Barberio, Jordan Keller, Andy Lin, Jaxon Rozanski, Domenic Hogue, Jackson Kerr, Geordan Bokor, Jacob Biskup, and Drake Davis The Queen will be crowned during halftime of Friday night’s football game against the Western Beaver Golden Beavers at Helling Stadium. 2025 Riverside Homecoming Court Announced

The Riverside High School has announced its 2025 Homecoming Court. Homecoming Game is Friday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. Pregame starts at 6:30 p.m. Crowning of the 2025 Homecoming Queen will take place during halftime of the Panthers football game against the Freedom Area Bulldogs. The Riverside Homecoming dance is Saturday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the Riverside High School. There is no homecoming king. Roslyn Steinbach was crowned the 2024 Riverside Homecoming last September. The 2025 Ellwood City Fall Fest took place on a warm September Saturday in downtown Ellwood City. The annual spectacle features a car cruise and many street vendors. As many as 600 cars adorned Lawrence Avenue and with live music, 50 plus vendors, food trucks, kids games and crafts, and a petting zoo, the fall festival was another autumn success. Amicone Hauls In Last Second TD Pass, Wolverines Edge Mohawk 21-15

A week after a crushing last second loss to Neshannock, Ellwood City flipped the script and earned its last second victory over Mohawk. Tyler Amicone hauled in a 41-yard touchdown pass with 9.3 seconds remaining to erase the Wolverines single point deficit. The Wolverines marched down the field in less than three minutes and with no timeouts to secure the comeback conference victory. Late Field Goal Lifts Riverside To 9-7 Victory Over Union

Gage Safran’s 38-yard field goal with 5:33 to play proved the difference in Riverside’s 9-7 victory over Union Thursday night at Union. The Panthers held a decisive advantage in total offense outgaining the host Scotties 364 to 147, but it wasn’t until a drive that began with nine minutes exact on the clock that they were able to take the lead back for good. She walked out of the Ellwood City clinic with tears streaming down her face. For the first time in years, she had received life-changing care — care she admitted she could never have afforded otherwise.
