VIDEO: Lawmaker Calls For Investigation Into Ellwood Medical Center
Employees are still on the job, keeping the Ellwood City Medical Center open and safe, but without pay. This may change as state and Lawrence County lawmakers are now calling for an investigation into the medical center. Last week, employees finally received good checks owed before Christmas – two weeks late – amid a series of recently reported payroll problems. According to a KDKA report, services have been dropped and departments have been closed. The century old medical center has gone from around 400 people to about 190.
