Loren F. “Sonny” Bubb, 85, of Ellport, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Rochester Manor. Born in Ellwood City on February 3, 1937, Sonny was the son of the late Francis Elmer and Verna Belle Kiesling Bubb. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn “Ramona” Ritter whom he married on June 8, 1957. Sonny was employed as a crane operator at Hydrol in Rochester and after they closed, he worked for Herr Voss in Callery, PA. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Col. Max Giovannini (USAF-Ret.) died on 10 May 2022 at the age of 93 in San Antonio, Texas. His long life was characterized by unwavering devotion to his family and country. He epitomized the “officer and gentleman.” He was born to Filippo and Irene Giovannini in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. William “Bill” Mora, 74, of Ellwood City died June 14, 2022, after a long illness. Bill was born March 7, 1948, in Ellwood City to the late Chester and Catherine Patricia McCullough Mora. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965 and served in the U.S Navy on the West Coast after basic training at the Naval Station Great Lakes. Bill worked at the Frisco plant of Calgon for many years before retiring at 55 to pursue his diverse interests that included guns, hunting and fishing. Mr. Mark L. Grim, 70, of Shenango Township passed away on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at the UPMC Jamison Hospital in New Castle. Mark was born in Monaca on February 2nd, 1952 to the late Melvin and Mary (Yambrisic) Grim. He is a member of the Monaca High School class of 1970, and graduated from Robert Morris College in 1974 with a degree in marketing. John George DeGruttola, Jr., 93, of Davis Road died Thursday, June 9, 2022 at his residence in Ellwood City. He was born on March 27, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late John G. and Josephine (Nessenthaler) DeGruttola, Sr. He married Lucy Marie (Memo) DeGruttola on September 6, 1952, she survives in Ellwood City. Mr. DeGruttola was a Structural Iron Worker for Local #207 in Youngstown, OH, retiring after 43 years. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Fort Bragg as a paratrooper. LeVerne M. Burns formerly of Ross Township, passed away on Tuesday, June 7th 2022 at her residence. LeVerne was born in Pittsburgh to the late Charles and Eleanor (Klein) Peaco. She graduated from the Mt. Alvernia High School with the class of 1945.
