Marie Pander, 91, formerly of Lundy Lane, Ellwood City passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospice following an extended illness. Born August 8, 1924 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Alphonso and Margaret DeRose D’Amore. Marie was married to George O. Pander who passed away November 9, 2006. Marie was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. She was active with the Women of the Moose and was an officer in the Gotta-Gittaway-Campers club. Victoria was born on Sept. 15, 1926 in New Castle to the late Frank and Philomenia DeRobbio Comparone. She is a member of the New Castle High School class of 1943, and the Holy Redeemer Parish. Alfred N. Sberna, 91, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He was born on Oct. 24, 1924 in Ellwood City to the late Virgilio and Lisena Foiani Sberna. Alfred is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1942. On June 21, 1943 he enlisted with the U.S. Army and served with the 75th Bomb Squadron until his discharge on March 12, 1946 with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
