Timothy D. Gorgas, 66, of Ellport passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at UPMC Passavant Cranberry Twp. following an apparent heart attack. Born January 6, 1951 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John Adam and Helen Cello Gorgas. He was married for over 33 years to Pam Rossman Montozzi Gorgas, who survives. Tim graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968 and continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh. He worked at the Ellwood City Forge for 33 years in the sales department. Winifred R. Manzo, 85, of Wampum, finally free of the pain she suffered with for years, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Rochester Manor following a longterm illness. Born October 23, 1931 in Wampum, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Kirkwood and Helen Nagel Kirkwood. She was a member of Wampum Methodist Church, and a former member of St. Monica’s in Wampum. She was last employed at the Airway Luggage Company. She graduated from Wampum High School. Albert G. Smith Jr. “Smitty”, 67, of old Rt. 18, Wampum passed away unexpectedly though in ill health Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his home. Born May 3, 1950 in Annapolis, MD, he was the son of the late Albert Sr. and Sophie Kazenski Smith. He was married to Avis D’Amico Smith for 38 years, she survives. Smitty was a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1999, where he retired as a Sergeant First Class. He was a Marine during the Vietnam War 1968-1972. Delores M. Weingartner, 85, of Ellwood Rd., (Wayne Twp.) passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at her residence. Born February 18, 1932 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Edith Ross Filippone. She was married for 66 years to Harold “Bucky” Weingartner as they were married May 5, 1951. He survives. Delores graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. She was a beautician at her own shop, Delores Weingartner’s Beauty Shop for over 25 years. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. John A. Calabria, 87, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully at the Community Living Center at the VA Medical Center in Butler, on Sunday afternoon, June 11 20017. He was born in  Sabraton WV  on September 29 1929, to the late Angelo Mario “Charley” Calabria, and the late Mary Elena Rocco  Calabria. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1948. Warren Peffer, 75, of Perry Township passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 following a long battle with cancer. Born March 6, 1942 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Marion and Thelma Rupert Peffer. He was married for 48 years to Nancy M. Peffer who passed away November 21, 2016. Warren retired from BNZ Materials in Zelienople where he was a machine operator. He was an active member and longtime Sunday School teacher at the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church. James J. Scala, 84, of 35th St., Beaver Falls passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver. Born September 14, 1932 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Norge Scala. He was married to Rose Marie Keppen Scala who passed away in 1967. Leonard A. “Bobo” Agnello, 80, of Kittanning (formerly of Wampum) was called home by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. “Bo” was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a cottage parent, barber instructor, and bounty hunter all at George Jr. Republic, At George Jr, he also coached and instructed the drill team, winning many competitions. There were many other occupations and he owned several businesses thereafter, but the business he enjoyed the most was the amusement business.
