Frances J. Campbell, 94, formerly of Hogue Rd. passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Carriage Manor in New Castle. Born July of 1923 in Tug Hill, New York, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Myrtle Hopseker Rogers. Frances was married to Ernest Raymond Campbell who passed away March 2, 1995. Mrs. Campbell was an Elementary School Teacher for 24 years in the Laurel School District. She was a member of the Rose Point Reformed Presbyterian Church. Frances was an avid reader. Mrs. Alice Elizabeth “Betty” Woodfield, daughter of Mabel McQuiston Cover and George Cover, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Northview Estates in Ellwood City, Pa. Growing up during the great depression, Alice was born on July 16, 1923. She attended a one room school house at the top of Mount Hope road and Dutch Ridge road where she excelled in her class work. Joann was born on December 8, 1931 in New Castle to the late Curtis and Anna (Duvall) Neff. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1949. Joann had worked at the former Lawrence Savings and Trust, Lawrence County Board of Assistance, and the Lawrence County Housing Authority. Richard A. Kasparek, 63, of Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, October 22 2017 at his home. He was born in Ellwood City on May 21 1954, to the late Gerald Kasparek, Sr., and the late Alma Kotuba Kasparek. Rick was a graduate of Riverside High School. Mervin L. Wilson, 85, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Princeton Village in Largo, Florida following an extended illness. Nickolas Palagallo, 90, of New Beaver Boro passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born November 8, 1926 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Colao Palagallo. He was married for 65 years to his beloved wife, Phyllis Leopardo Palagallo who survives. Born December 5, 1961 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Edna Jean Krepps Kozol. Kim graduated from St. Anthony’s School in Oakmont.
