Frances J. Campbell, 94, formerly of Hogue Rd. passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Carriage Manor in New Castle. Born July of 1923 in Tug Hill, New York, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Myrtle Hopseker Rogers. Frances was married to Ernest Raymond Campbell who passed away March 2, 1995. Mrs. Campbell was an Elementary School Teacher for 24 years in the Laurel School District. She was a member of the Rose Point Reformed Presbyterian Church. Frances was an avid reader. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors…

Fanny Ottaviani,  87, of Ellwoood City, passed away  peacefully  but unexpectedly on Sunday evening, October 22 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in  Ellwood City  on July 20, 1930, to the late Dimitrios and Vasiliki  Santis. She was a graduate of  Lincoln High School in Ellwood City.    She had worked for years in the clerical department at the Aetna Standard Engineering Co. in Ellwood City. Richard A. Kasparek, 63, of Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, October 22 2017 at his home. He was born in Ellwood City on May 21 1954, to the late Gerald Kasparek, Sr., and the late Alma Kotuba Kasparek. Rick was a graduate of Riverside High School. He worked for the  P&LE Railroad at Conway Yards and later as a meat cutter at Paul’s Market,  Ellwood City Shop n’ Save,  and Giant Eagle Supermarkets, at the Chippewa Township and Cranberry stores. Nickolas Palagallo, 90, of New Beaver Boro passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born November 8, 1926 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Colao Palagallo. He was married for 65 years to his beloved wife, Phyllis Leopardo Palagallo who survives. Nick retired in 1988 after working for 42 years at Medusa Cement Company. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the Wampum American Legion Post 749. Nick’s passion was baseball. Edythe “Edie” Mae Soltes, 90, of Mecklem Lane, Ellwood City passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Northview Estates following a brief illness. Born January 18, 1927 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Warren and Violet Woods Warren Hutchinson. She was married to Stephen G. Soltes who passed away April 16, 1999. Edie worked at Standard Steel Specialty Shop in Beaver Falls. Kimberly Ann Kozol, 55, of Edison Manor, New Castle passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at her residence following a short illness. Born December 5, 1961 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Edna Jean Krepps Kozol. Kim graduated from St. Anthony’s School in Oakmont. She retired after working for 29 years at Lark Workshops. Kim enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. She always had a smile for everyone she met. Alice E. Woodrow, 77, of Portersville, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, October 16 2017. She was born in Ellwood City, PA on May 10, 1940 to the late Harold and Alice Pander Funkhouser. She graduated from Lincoln High School (Ellwood City) in  1958 and worked at Airways Industries in Ellwood City, and later at American Eagle Outfitters in Warrendale  before retiring. She was a longtime member of the Ellwood City Free Methodist Church.
