Rev. Donald Shellenberger, 91, of Ellwood City passed into eternal life on August 24, 2018. Donald served in the US Navy in the South Pacific on the landing ship LST 1106. Later he worked for Babcock and Wilcox Co. as the Chief of Plant Security for 31 years. He served as Pastor of Bennetts Run United Methodist church for six years. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, his sister, Joanne Cowie, and his brother, Paul Shellenberger. He is survived by his children, Lawrence Shellenberger, Donna Mayhew, Allen Shellenberger, Wanda Shellenberger, Peggy Rudisill and his sister, June Lewis….

Mr. Angelo M. Prestopine, 85, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Prestopine was born on March 29, 1933 in Ellwood City to the late Michael J. and Gilda E. (Docchio) Prestopine. He had attended Lincoln High School and was a member of the Holy Redeemer parish. Angelo had worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in Beaver Falls for 37 years. Edward P. Miller,  87, of Alliance Ohio, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 19 2018 at Altercare of Alliance. He was born in Ellwood City on July 4 1931 to the late John and Catherine Linder Miller. Ed graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, class of 1949. He then served for 3 years during   the Korean War in the US Navy. Alice M. Cole, 93, formerly of Cole Rd. (Wayne Twp.) passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Springfield, Ohio on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Born February 20, 1925 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late George and Ettie O. Bowden Hobel . She was married for 65 years to David W. Cole who passed away December 22, 2007. Alice was a member of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Ladies Association. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling and playing cards. Joseph L. Potter, 70, of New Castle, formerly of Ellwood City,  passed away peacefully on Monday August 13 2018 at his residence. Born on June 23 1948 in Ellwood City, he was the oldest son of the late Daisy Drake Potter and Fred J. Potter.   Joseph was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. Esther Matilda Elizabeth “Betty” Gwin, 93, of North Beaver Township Passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018. Mrs. Gwin was born May 8, 1925, in Bury St. Edmunds at Suffolk, England, the daughter of Harold V. and Ada C. Ross. She was a 1940 graduate of Ardleigh Green School, Hornchurch, Essex, England. Aseneth J. “Seene” Doctor, 50, of Wilkes Ave., Butler passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler following a short courageous battle with cancer. Born December 26, 1967 in Mercer, she was the daughter of Forrest C. McCamey and Roberta J. Hoffman (Larry) Geer. She was married for 13 years to George S. Doctor who survives. Dorothy E. McKinney, 104, of Portersville passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Creek Meadows in Zelienople. Born July 8, 1914 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Elmer John and Anna Mae Spears Herrscher. She was married to Bertus B. McKinney who passed away in 1983. Mrs. Mary R. Heaton, 91, of Big Beaver Borough, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at her residence with her loving family at her side.
