Paul F. “Fred” Kosior, 84, of Chewton passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a short illness. Born July 20, 1936 in Chewton, he was the son of the late Edward and Sophie Modliszewski Kosior. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Russell Trucking for over 30 years. Fred was a member of the former St. Monica’s in Wampum and a current member of Holy Redeemer. He was a member and past president of the Chewton P.N.A. Fred was involved with the Kosior Brother Race Team. Survivors include many loving nieces and nephews and their families….

George G. Russell Sr., 90, of New Galilee, passed on Tuesday January 12, 2021 under the gentle care of the Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center. George was the patriarch of a large family, a pillar in the church and community, and well loved and respected by many. He was born on March 11, 1930 in Beaver Falls to the late Nathaniel and Viola Russell. George was a member of the Beaver Falls High School Class of 1948. Marjorie M. Buchanan, 94, of Wampum passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Avalon Place following an extended illness. Born February 21, 1926 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John N. and Verna Fairbanks Knight. She was married to the late Wendell J. Buchanan who passed on October 9, 1970. Marjorie was a an active member of First Assembly of God Church in New Castle. She retired from K-Mart after 30 years of service as a cashier. Marjorie enjoyed traveling with her sisters to Florida for the strawberry festival. She liked country and gospel music. Survivors…

Benjamin R. Anderson IV, 60, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 9, 2021 following a tremendous 3-year battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Benjamin Anderson III, who passed away on November 26, 2020, and Donna (Scheidemantle) Anderson of Zelienople. Gerald J. “Jerry” Matus, 81, of Wampum, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his residence. Born June 2, 1939 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John and Alferetta “Freddie” Aloe Matus. Jerry was the owner and operator of Matus Service Center and Auto Sales in Wampum. He was a well known race car driver and four time track champion at Lernerville Speedway. He was a helicopter and airplane pilot, he also instructed and flew ultralights.
