Riverside standout Joe Reed headlined a group of Panthers who qualified for the PIAA Track and Field Championships with their individual performances Wednesday at the 2023 WPIAL Individual Championships at Slippery Rock University. Riverside Panther pitcher Samantha Rosenberger was brilliant in the pitcher’s circle on Tuesday, as she tossed a four inning no-hitter to lead Riverside past Fort Cherry 14-0 in the first round of the WPIAL Class 2A softball playoffs at Peterswood Park. The senior hurler struck out 13 batters and did not issue a walk in the stellar pitching performance that earned the Lady Panthers its first playoff victory in a decade. Riverside Girls Track Knocked Off In WPIAL Quarterfinals, Look Towards PIAA District 7 Championships

On a muggy, gray Western Pennsylvania afternoon early in May the Riverside Girls Track & Field Team finished in third place in the 2023 WPIAL Class 2A Track & Field quarterfinals. The Lady Panthers were defeated by Greensburg Central Catholic and Winston Thurston on May 4th, coming in third place out of the four team quarterfinal pod. Lady Panthers Defeat Hopewell Thanks To Sixth Inning Boost

The Riverside Lady Panthers scored eight runs in the sixth inning on its way to a 12-1 victory over Hopewell on Wednesday. Prior to the game four Panther seniors – Madison Fryer, Sam Rosenberger, Braley Zappia, and Aliya Ottaviani – were recognized as part of the Senior Night festivities. Panthers Sweep Mohawk, Earn Undefeated Section Championship

Riverside used a stellar performance by sophomore Christian Lucarelli Tuesday to wrap up a two game sweep of Mohawk and to collect its undefeated section championship. The Panthers (17-0 Overall, 12-0 Section 1-3A) pounced on the Warriors early Tuesday, putting up six runs in the first inning behind RBIs by Hunter Garvin, Mitch Garvin, Sam Barber, and Sean Hayes. Six Ellwood City Wolverine seniors were recognized in advance of the Wolverines final home game of its season Tuesday afternoon. Ellwood City was defeated by Shenango 14-1. Isaiah Lutz led the offense with two hits, including a double. Senior Blake Foreman collected the only other hit offensively as Ellwood City was stymied and held to three hits on the afternoon. Joseph Roth took the loss on the mound. Roth started and allowed six earned runs across three innings. On Saturday, April 29th, athletes from the Riverside and Ellwood City boys and girls track and field teams competed in the 2023 Tri-County Track and Field Championships held at Shenango High School. The Ellwood City boys team placed second and the Riverside girls team placed fourth in their respective team standings.  The Riverside boys placed fifth while the Ellwood City girls placed sixth. Riverside enters its final week of regular season play off a thrilling walk-off victory on Friday courtesy of a Mitch Garvin walk off double. Riverside (15-0 Overall, 10-0 Section 1-3A)  look to wrap up its undefeated regular season with a home-and-home two game series against Mohawk beginning Monday. With their undefeated regular season on the line, Riverside used a 10-run outburst in the fifth inning to stage its rally and knock off Neshannock 12-4 Wednesday.
