Evan Skinner led a trio of Panthers scoring in double figures Friday night as Riverside knocked off New Brighton 65-36 on Senior Night. Skinner finished with four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 18 points in the victory. Will Sullivan (16 points) and McCartney Plassmeyer (10 points) joined Skinner in double figures. Skinner poured in 13 first half points as Riverside raced out to a 36-17 halftime advantage. Riverside Boys Swimming Team Earns Runner-Up Finish At Beaver County Championships

The Riverside Varsity Swimming competed at the Beaver County Swim and Dive Championships last weekend at Beaver Area High School The Riverside Boys Team earned runner-up for the meet while the Riverside Girls Team finished 5th. This is a new meet added for the teams this season where six schools from Beaver County met to compete. The Riverside girls basketball team easily dispatched of visiting New Brighton Thursday night during its senior night contest. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lions 60-7 to help run their regular season record to 14-8 Overall. DeLana Fox and Camryn Friello each scored 11 points for Riverside. Emma Meyer also reached double figures with 10 points in the victory. Riverside now sits at 9-5 in Section 1-3A along with Beaver Falls, both one game ahead of Ellwood City. It was a long evening Tuesday as the Ellwood City boys and girls basketball squads teamed up for a senior night double header against Beaver Falls. Two overtime thrillers later, both teams collected victories amid a combined eleven periods of play. Ellwood Area Family Center Hosting Youth Golf Program

The Ellwood Area Family Center will be hosting a youth golf program beginning in late February. The golf program will be held at the Ellwood Area Family Center on the North Side of Ellwood City on Tuesday evenings beginning on February 18th.  The clinic will run four five consecutive Tuesdays and will be available for ages 9, 10 and 11. Kayla Jones poured in 15 first half points to lead Ellwood City to a comfortable 74-39 victory over Sto-Rox Thursday night at Lincoln High School. The scoring performance helped Jones top 1,000 career points. The senior guard finished 5-10 shooting with one 3-pointer, two rebounds, and three assists Thursday in the non-section contest. Upcoming BC3 Clinics To Help Girls Gain Volleyball Skills

Girls as young as fifth-graders can develop skills in volleyball by attending Butler County Community College clinics directed by a BC3 head coach whose players have won 475 matches and earned 14 All-American awards. BC3’s winter skills clinic Jan. 25 will be followed by one-day spring skills clinics that will also be held on Saturdays in February, March and April.
