Ellwood City Tennis Conducting Mini Clinic In June

Ellwood City Tennis will be conducting a tennis clinic for any boy or girl interested in learning the basics of tennis. The tennis clinic will be held on June 23rd, 24th and 25th, 2025 at the Ewing Park Courts from 10am to 11:15am. Any child ages 5-12 is eligible to sign up and participate. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. The clinic will promote tennis skills from the basic to moderate level. “The participants will learn skills pertaining to tennis. PHOTOS: Panthers Cruise In PIAA Opening Round Victory

The WPIAL District 7 Champion Riverside Panthers cruised to a 9-0 opening round victory over Huntingdon in the PIAA 3A playoffs Monday afternoon on its home turf. Senior Christian Lucarelli tossed a 3-hit complete game for the Panthers. Lucarelli struck out seven batters and allowed only two walks. The Riverside offense exploded for five runs in the third inning to quickly put the game at bay. John Bowser and Hunter Garvin each picked up RBI singles in the inning while Lucarelli drew a bases loaded walk and a balk and Jackson Barber ground out also envoked runs for the Panthers….

FREE Co-Ed Basketball Camp To Be Offered At Ewing Park Courts In July

A free, five-day co-ed basketball camp is scheduled to begin at the Ewing Park Basketball Courts from Monday, July 28th thru Friday, August 1st. Camp director Bob Rak will lead the camp with assistant coaches Al Campman, Herm Petti, Dr. Brad Brown and Joe Fisher The camp that will run from 10 a.m. till noon during the week. Any boy or girl ages 6–12 are welcome to participate. The cost is FREE – just bring your own basketball and drinks.  Last year the camp drew 42 participants! PERFECTION: Hare Tosses Perfect Game, Panthers Claim WPIAL Championship

The Riverside Panthers are WPIAL Champions once again behind historic pitching perfection. Senior Zach Hare tossed a perfect game Thursday evening to lead the Riverside Panthers to a 1-0 victory over Quaker Valley to claim its WPIAL Class 3A Championship. The 15-strikeout, no hit, no walk performance capped a legendary postseason run by the Slippery Rock University commit. Addison Drake hit a go-ahead two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to lead #11 Riverside to a 4-3 victory over Bentworth Tuesday in the Class 2A 3rd place game. Riverside Ousts South Park In 12 Innings, Advances To WPIAL Championship

In a monumental pitching dual, the Riverside Panthers outlasted South Park in extra innings Friday evening to advance to the WPIAL Class 3A Championship Game for a third consecutive year. The Panthers earned a 1-0 walk-off victory compliments of a Jackson Barber single in the bottom of the 12th inning. Panther Freshman right fielder Ava Cummings collected three hits in four at bats as the #11 seeded Riverside Lady Panthers defeated #3 seed Laurel Varsity Spartans 11-1 on Monday in the WPIAL Class 2A Quarterfinals.
