Bernstine Announces Satellite Office Hours in Beaver, Butler Counties

‘Life on a Chain is No Life At All,’ New Anti-Tethering Act Effective Today

In the ongoing attempt to stop animal abuse, the new Pennsylvania anti-tethering act, part of the recently approved Libre’s Law, is effective starting today. The act will place reasonable limitations on continuous tethering of dogs outside. Specifically, this law requires: A leash must be three times the length of the pet or 10 feet, whichever is longer. No tow or logged chain or pinch, choke, or prong collars used with a tether. A well-fitted collar and no open sores or wounds on the dog’s body. Bernstine Announces More Than $500,000 in Pre-K Counts Grants for Local Providers

ELLWOOD CITY – Making sure Pennsylvania children have the best possible start when entering school, two area Pre-K Counts providers who serve children in the 10th Legislative District will receive a combined $527,000 in state grants, announced Rep. Mayor’s Advisory Meeting

On Thursday, Mayor Court held the Mayor’s Advisory Committee meeting at Nico’s Restaurant on Wampum Avenue. During the breakfast meeting the Mayor advised members who the six winners for the 2017 Beautification Awards were and that each was presented with an Award Sign and a gift certificate from one of our local restaurants. PennDOT to Start Suspending Vehicle Registrations for Unpaid Tolls

The new state law, Act 165, which was approved last fall, takes effect this Friday. Any drivers with unpaid tolls greater than $500 or who have at least six toll violations are at risk for vehicle registration suspension. As part of a limited time amnesty offer, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will waive fees for anyone who settles their debts before the deadline of 7p.m. Friday, and for anyone who has had the debts sent to a collection agency the turnpike will waive half of the associated fees. Bernstine Announces $460,000 to Improve Drinking Water in Wampum

HARRISBURG – Rep.
