TERRORISTIC THREATS: John Humensky, 52, of Ellwood City is charged with Terroristic Threats and Robbery after threatening to rob Ellwood City WesBanco Bank on February 9th forcing the branch to go on brief lockdown. According to the criminal complaint, and at approximately 9:45 a.m., a bank teller called police to report Humensky had walked into the bank and told her that he was thinking of robbing the bank. Bernstine Announces Grants to First Responders in 8th District

HARRISBURG – Grant funding will be coming to several first responder companies in the 8th District under a program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) within the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), according to Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence). Every emergency service organization that completes the application process receives funding. ECASD Board of Directors Accepts Resignation of Principal

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted to accept the resignation of Jr. High Principal Kirk Lape during the February 9 voting meeting. Lape, who served as principal for Lincoln High School’s seventh, eighth and ninth graders, was hired by the Laurel School District’s Board of Directors by recommendation of Superintendent, Leonard Rich for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year at a salary of $113,000 (prorated) during their voting meeting February 8. A Beaver County Man Is Among Five Charged For Sexual Abuse of Children Across Pennsylvania

A 74-year-old Beaver County man and a 51-year-old Butler County man are among five men charged for the sexual assault and exploitation of children. Acting Attorney General Michelle Henry announced on Tuesday the filing of criminal charges against Raymond Shultz, Beaver County; Kevin Isovitsch, Butler County; Abimael Valentin-Matos, Lancaster County; Norman Aviles, Lancaster County; and Marc Brown, Allegheny County, for the sexual assault and exploitation of children. In each case, all of the defendants and their victims were members of Jehovah’s Witness congregations. The Riverside Auxiliary Band is hosting its 2nd Annual Spin Camp. Students will be taught baton, flag, and dance basics. Students will use these skills to learn a routine that will be performed for parents at the end of the camp.
