Wampum Resident Indicted for Producing and Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material

PITTSBURGH – A resident of Wampum, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of Production of Material Depicting the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Possession of Material Depicting the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan announced today. The three-count Indictment named Thomas Hyatt-Baney, 21, formerly of Wampum, Pennsylvania, as the sole defendant. According to the Indictment, Hyatt-Baney, on or about May 28, 2023, and June 25, 2023, produced visual depictions of the sexual exploitation of a minor. Borough of Ellwood City Utility Office Updating Payment System

The Borough of Ellwood City utility office will be getting a new system starting July 31st, 2024, with an estimated end date of August 7th, 2024 according to information made available by the borough. During the transition only checks and money orders will be accepted. The office will still be open normal business hours during the transition. As always, the drop box outback will be available. Payments received within the transition period will be deposited once the system has completed the update on August 7th, 2024. With this new system comes changes. FREE Co-Ed Basketball Camp To Be Offered At Ewing Park Courts

A free, five-day co-ed basketball camp is scheduled to begin at the Ewing Park Basketball Courts from Monday, July 29th thru Friday, August 2nd. Coaches Al Campman, Bob Rac, Herm Petti and Joe Fisher will host the camp that will run from 10 a.m. till noon during the week. Any boy or girl ages 7–11 are welcome to participate. The cost is FREE – just bring your own basketball and drinks. Coaching includes: ball handling, passing, dribbling, defense, shooting and games. INMETCO Property Purchased With Plans On Operating

According to a local news report, Irongate Industrial Center LLC was the highest bidder in purchasing the land and building of the former International Metals Reclamation Company (INMETCO) with plans to operate the facility. The report adds that during a June 26 auction, Irongate Industrial Center LLC was the highest bidder at $1.4 million for the industrial site and under the terms of the sale, Irongate agreed to purchase the property free-and-clear of all liens, interests and encumbrances, and will not be responsible for any liability or obligations from INMETCO during the bankruptcy case. Fatal Crash Occurs On Route 65 Near Hogue Road Overnight Saturday

A one vehicle fatal crash occurred just after midnight into Saturday that took the lives of the driver and two passengers. According to a PA Police report, and at approximately 12:30 a.m., a 2019 Nissan Armada was traveling south bound on State Round 65, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County and for unknown reasons traveled across the northbound travel lane, before leaving the roadway. SIMPLE ASSAULT: Ryan Kelosky, 31, of Fombell, is charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident on July 14th.
