Iowa Caucus Results: Clinton Wins Democratic, Cruz Wins Republican, Both by One Delegate

Iowa- The results for the first primary of the 2016 presidential election season are in. In the Democratic race, Hillary Clinton won, if by the smallest margin, grabbing 22 delegates while Bernie Sanders claimed 21. Sanders only tailed Clinton by 0.2 of a percent. Thus, only two candidates remain viable contenders for the Democratic ticket. The third Democratic candidate, Martin O’Malley, dropped out of the race this morning. Monaca– Six Community College of Beaver County student-athletes earned a place on the Fall 2015 Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (WPCC) All-Academic Team. Four women’s volleyball players and two men’s basketball players were regionally recognized for achieving honors or high honors in the classroom. To earn the honor award, student-athletes must achieve a 3.0 to 3.49 GPA. Beaver County Snow Shovel Riding Championship Postponed

The Beaver County Commissioners, with their Departments of Recreation & Tourism and Public Works, have determined that the 53rd Annual Snow Shovel Riding Championship, previously scheduled for Saturday January 30th at Old Economy Park, must be postponed due to weather. The Championship is postponed until Saturday February 6th or until the conditions on a subsequent Saturday have sufficient snow cover to conduct the event. Fire Destroys The Ranch

The Ranch, a Wayne Township restaurant and bar, was destroyed in a fire yesterday afternoon. The fire originated in the kitchen as a grease fire shortly after 1:30 p.m. and spread to the entire building. Nine fire departments rushed to the scene as state police directed traffic. By 2:30, the fire had gone through the building’s roof. Firefighters from Wayne Township were still at the scene at 6:30 p.m. Fire companies that responded include Wayne Township, Ellwood City, Wurtemburg-Perry Township, Chewton, Frisco, Portersville, Shenango, Slippery Rock Township and North Sewickley Township. Police: Stealing Personal Checks

Stealing Personal Checks According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 27 of 2014, Drew Hall, 26, of Ellwood City had reportedly removed several checks from the residence of the victim, who is the grandmother of the accused. Hall then cashed the checks to multiple Woodforest Bank locations, which he signed in the victim’s signature without permission, totaling to $460. Video surveillance from a Woodforest Bank confirmed that Hall had cashed a check. On Jan. 14, 2016, he was charged with forgery, theft by deception and theft by unlawful taking.
