Ellwood City Bald Eagles Return to Nest

A walk to the natural trail at Rodger’s Park yesterday confirmed the eagles of Ellwood City have again returned to their nest to raise this years hatchlings! Along the banks of the Connoquenessing Creek in Wayne Township is a family of bald eagles. Every year, since 2010, the couple has returned to the same nest to raise eaglets. To find the nest, drive to Rodger’s Park in Ellport, colloquially referred to as “The Hole,” and walk down the nature trail toward the Connoquenessing and several islands. Two CCBC Students Named to All-Pennsylvania Academic Team and Honored in Harrisburg

Monaca, PA – Each year, Pennsylvania’s 14 community colleges together with Phi Theta Kappa, the international two-year college honor society, name community college students from across the Commonwealth to the All-PA Academic Team for their academic achievements in the classroom and volunteerism in their communities. BREAKING: Cleveland Facebook Killer Commits Suicide in Erie

The manhunt for Steve Stephens has come to a halt according to GoErie.com. “Steve Stephens found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound in white Ford Fusion on Buffalo Road, Erie police confirmed. State police had been following the car as it was headed west into the city of Erie,” the site states. Stephens shot and killed himself after a brief pursuit, police said. The incident follows a three day long manhunt of Stephens after he targeted and murdered a random elderly man in Cleveland Sunday afternoon and uploaded footage of the killing to Facebook. Local Girl Brings Gifts to Ellwood City Police Officers

Samantha Davis brought gift bags to EC Police Department on Wednesday afternoon. Davis brought a gift bags for each officer from the Holy Redeemer Elementary School, where she attends. Samantha is part of a program initiated by Holy Redeemer school students who pray for local first responders as part of their everyday prayers. The officers show their appreciation by attended functions at the school for each class grade who adopted an officer. Easter Sunday Shooter Suspected in Western Pennsylvania

UPDATED: 4/18 at 10a.m. A manhunt has been warranted in several states after suspect, Steve Stephens, shot and killed an elderly man midday Easter Sunday and uploaded the killing to his Facebook page. According to reports, Stephens, 37, of Cleveland Ohio, fatally shot random passerby 74-year-old Robert Godwin in a residential area east of Cleveland, uploaded footage of the shooting to his Facebook, and fled the scene. Mayor Presents Tamburitzan Commendation

On Sunday, April 9, 2017 The Tamburitzans from Pittsburgh PA performed in Ellwood City. Mayor Court proclaimed April 9, 2019 as “Tamburitzans Day” in Ellwood City, by presenting a Proclamation at the Ellwood City Rotary Club meeting in March. Alena Kucan, who is from Ellwood City was also presented with a commendation by Mayor Court for her outstanding performance and she is viewed by many as a “ROLE MODEL” for the young adults throughout the region.
