Two Local Students To Receive 2025 Viccari-McDonald’s of Ellwood City Scholarships

McDonald’s of Ellwood City and the Beaver County Foundation are pleased to announce that Tessa Folino from Lincoln High School and Lucas Moody from Riverside High School will both receive the 2025 Viccari-McDonald’s of Ellwood City Scholarship. The check presentations will take place at 4:30 pm TODAY, Tuesday, June 17 at McDonald’s of Ellwood City, 15 5th Street. Folini will receive $1,000 towards her college tuition in recognition of her academic achievement, leadership ability and community service. At Lincoln High School, Folini participated in Varsity Tennis, Student Council and National Honor Society while also maintaining a 4.76 grade point average….

Ellwood City Police Officer Demoted, Suspended, Ordered to Attend Anger Management Classes Following Gas Station Altercation

Ellwood City Borough Council on Monday evening handed down the disciplinary action for a police officer involved in an altercation at the Sheetz in Ellwood City that was captured on video and posted all over social media and the Internet. Council voted unanimously to demote Sergeant Robert Magnifico to patrolman, ordered him to take classes in de-escalation and anger management (approved by Mayor Anthony Court), and suspended him for ten days without pay. Vogel Announces $2.48 Million in PHARE Funding Benefiting Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties

HARRISBURG – Sen. Riverside Sports Hall of Fame to Host 1st Annual Renee’s Run & Walk in Honor of Beloved Community Member

Ellwood City Historical Society Honoring Era of Penny Postcards

The use of penny postcards is long gone, but their influence can still be seen at the Ellwood City Area Historical Society. In the society’s collection are hundreds of early 1900s post cards that can be viewed to see how the town has changed in more than 100 years. The ECAHS is honoring that period of local history and has produced a set of five postcards with more contemporary scenes of Ellwood.
