PHOTOS: Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project Is More Than Halfway Complete

Significant progress has been made along the Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) as the Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project is more than halfway completed. The $269 million project, which began in December 2022, constructs two new bridges to the north of the current bridge and expands the roadway from two to three lanes in each direction, adding widened shoulders and median. Pier tables are currently under construction on the eastbound bridge and have been completed on the westbound side. REAL ID Support Continuing With Monday Event at Nearly 60 Locations Following Start of Federal Enforcement

Harrisburg – With the federal REAL ID Act now in effect, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is continuing to offer its REAL ID Days at 57 driver license centers on Monday, May 12. REAL ID Days continue to draw strong turnout, with nearly 10,000 REAL IDs issued during each of the past four events. Brown Vehemently Opposes Legalizing Recreational Marijuana in Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG – Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) this week voted “no” on legalizing recreational marijuana in Pennsylvania. Brown issued the following statement after the House approved House Bill 1200: “The 173-page bill was just introduced Sunday, May 4, and was fast tracked through the House Health Committee, of which I am a member, Monday. The Junior Class of Ellwood City Lincoln High School dedicated the 2024–2025 school year to fundraising and planning for the highly anticipated Junior/Senior Prom. Their efforts culminated in a memorable evening on Friday, May 2, 2025, as the annual prom was held at the Steamfitters Pittsburgh Event Center in Harmony, Pennsylvania.
