State Police Releases Non-Life-Sustaining Businesses Enforcement Totals

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police released data on actions taken against non-life-sustaining businesses that failed to comply with Governor Tom Wolf’s order closing their physical locations. Enforcement began on Monday, March 23, 2020. On Thursday, Pennsylvania State Police issued a total of 21 warnings, bringing their week total to 78 warnings.  No citations have been reported. A total of four warnings have been reported in the troop coverage area that includes Ellwood City.  The coverage area consists of Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties. Borough Council Extends State of Emergency For Ellwood City

During a special Friday afternoon meeting, the Ellwood City Borough Council extended its State of Emergency in response to the ongoing novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) global pandemic. By law a declaration of a local state of emergency may not extend past seven days unless approved by the governing body of the borough  or municipality. The original announcement was made available by the Borough and Mayor Anthony Court last Friday. Wayne Township Announces Modified Meeting

To mitigate the COVID-19 spread, the Wayne Township Supervisor meeting, scheduled for Thursday April 2, 2020 has been modified to transact essential business only. The Board of Supervisors will be participating in a “Conference Call Business Meeting” for the April Board Meeting. According to information made available this afternoon, the Borough of Ellwood City has announced a date for a special council meeting for this Friday, March 27, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. The council meeting will be done remotely, with Council conducting the special meeting by conference call. Ellwood City Annual Easter Egg Hunt Cancelled

According to information made available this afternoon, the 25th Annual Easter Egg hunt has been cancelled. In a statement from the committee, and due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Ellwood City Area Egg Hunt has to cancel this year’s community Easter Egg hunt that was suppose to take place on Saturday April 4, 2020. BC3 Informed That Student Tests Positive for COVID-19

Butler, PA- Butler County Community College was notified today by a student that the student who attends BC3’s main campus in Butler Township has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on BC3’s main campus March 9. The college today alerted students who attended classes with the student and faculty who taught the courses. It also notified other students, faculty and staff. The notifications advised students, faculty and staff to contact a heathcare provider should they experience symptoms of COVID-19, and provided information about a community healthcare center that serves adults who do not have health insurance. PITTSBURGH – Scott W.
