Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Celebrating 225th Anniversary On Sunday

On Sunday, August 25th, Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church is celebrating a special day – commemorating 225 years of God’s faithfulness at Slippery Rock Church. Borough Manager: Ellwood City to Host Innovative Readiness Training (IRT)

Ellwood City Borough Manager Kevin Swogger announced during Monday night’s regular meeting of the Ellwood City Borough Council that Ellwood City will be the home of Innovative Readiness Training (IRT). IRT is a Department of Defense (DoD) military training opportunity, exclusive to the United States and its territories, that delivers joint training opportunities to increase deployment readiness. Simultaneously, IRT provides key services (health care, construction, transportation, and cybersecurity) with lasting benefits for communities. Pie Festival, Panther Night On Thursday!

Both Ellwood City and Riverside school districts will kick off their respective back to school seasons with community events on Thursday, August 22nd. Ellwood City will host its annual Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band Pie Festival at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park. Tickets are $5.00 to redeem for an Amish hand pie and bottle of water. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

ASSAULT: On July 23rd at approximately 8:09 a.m. police were called due to a report of domestic abuse between a male and female at a residence on State Line Road, Little Beaver Township. The caller advised police that the female told him she was struck with a gun by her boyfriend, Denis Lozinsky. According to a criminal complaint police arrived on scene and had concluded that the victim was no longer inside the residence. Officers attempted to hail Lozinskiy before making entry. It is reported that Lozinskiy then used the weapon to end his life as police entered the residence….
