After dedicating five weeks of hard work in the Arts & Bots after school program, the 5th and 6th graders of Hartman Intermediate finally showcased their dinosaur-robotic creations to the 3rd and 4th graders at Perry Elementary School during the Jurassic Library event Friday morning. Mr. Marsh, the elementary art teacher, Mr. Setzenfand, the Wolverine Workshop instructor and Mr. Skoczylas, elementary computer teacher, were in charge of the club and event. CCBC Celebrates Student Success at First Annual Night of Excellence

Aliquippa, PA – On a beautiful spring evening, Community College of Beaver County brought together faculty and staff, trustees, donors, and families to recognize and celebrate 120 students who this year have achieved success in the classroom, on campus, and in the community. Ellwood City Bald Eagles Return to Nest

A walk to the natural trail at Rodger’s Park yesterday confirmed the eagles of Ellwood City have again returned to their nest to raise this years hatchlings! Along the banks of the Connoquenessing Creek in Wayne Township is a family of bald eagles. Every year, since 2010, the couple has returned to the same nest to raise eaglets. To find the nest, drive to Rodger’s Park in Ellport, colloquially referred to as “The Hole,” and walk down the nature trail toward the Connoquenessing and several islands. Two CCBC Students Named to All-Pennsylvania Academic Team and Honored in Harrisburg

Monaca, PA – Each year, Pennsylvania’s 14 community colleges together with Phi Theta Kappa, the international two-year college honor society, name community college students from across the Commonwealth to the All-PA Academic Team for their academic achievements in the classroom and volunteerism in their communities. Local Girl Brings Gifts to Ellwood City Police Officers

Samantha Davis brought gift bags to EC Police Department on Wednesday afternoon. Davis brought a gift bags for each officer from the Holy Redeemer Elementary School, where she attends. Samantha is part of a program initiated by Holy Redeemer school students who pray for local first responders as part of their everyday prayers. The officers show their appreciation by attended functions at the school for each class grade who adopted an officer. 2017: Predictably Bad Year for Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease is spreading wildly across eastern America, with Pennsylvania leading the nation for the most reported cases. Last years numbers were a skyrocketing 12,000+ cases – almost half of the entire reported yearly cases in the USA and three times the amount of the runner up state, New York.
