Festival Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

Fireworks Fundraiser More Than Doubles Goal: $11,230 Raised

The fireworks fundraiser earned double plus its $5,000 goal tallying out at a final number of $11,230. Festival Announces Little Miss Firecracker Participants

On Friday, June 28, Ellwood City’s Folino Stage will again ‘light up’ as 17 young ladies vie for this year’s title of Little Miss Firecracker. The 5th annual pageant is the kick-off for the 39th Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food, and Entertainment Festival and will begin at 11:15 am. The three-day festival will take place in Ewing Park, Ellwood City. Pageant participants range from ages 5-7 and live within a 15 mile radius of Ellwood City. BINGO! Winner Announced for Relay For Life Bug Bingo

We have a winner! Eric Ryan Corporation and EllwoodCity.org are pleased to announce that Julia Rider is the winner of Bug Bingo. Bug Bingo was a combined effort of both businesses to raise money for the Ellwood City Relay for Life. Rider won $200 for her coverall card. She is pictured here with Eric Venezie, representing EllwoodCity.org. Cards were sold during the May 18 Relay for Life event. Unchained K9 Links Up To Ellwood City

Unchained K9 is a new, underground dog fence company local to Ellwood City. Dogs will wear a collar with radio frequency that alerts them when they try to approach/cross the underground wire. Owners Jim and Geri Lynn Cummings had come into this business on a whim. They had an underground dog fence for 11 years prior, and when they got a new puppy, it needed to be serviced. Big Shot Bobs Flying Into Town

Big Shot Bobs (BSBs) has made its debut in Ellwood City. The ‘House Of Wings’ held their opening night on Monday, June 3 hoping for a decent turnout, and they got more than just that. With over 100 orders, a 90-minute long wait, and when their phone lines became completely unavailable, people started coming into the 2nd Street location, it’s safe to assume Big Shot Bobs will become a town favorite in no time. Hospital to Host Dunkin’ Truck for National Emergency Medical Services Recognition Week

Council Votes to Create Hospital/Medical District

Ellwood City Borough Council voted Monday night 6-0 to create a hospital/medical district on the property where the Ellwood City Medical Center is located. Missing from the vote was councilman Rob Brough. There was no public input during Monday’s vote. The move is meant to protect the hospital and surrounding offices from being developed as anything but a medical facility.
