Portersville Christian School Information Night/Open House

Portersville Christian School will hold an Information Night/Open House at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, for families interested in enrolling students for the 2018-2019 school year. The school is accepting student applications and registrations prior to the release of next year’s tuition schedule at the end of March.  In addition to kindergarten, there are openings in most grade levels for fall of 2018.  Interested families who have students entering kindergarten and grades 7 and 9 are encouraged to apply early, since these grades tend to fill up fast. “Second Saturday” – Soup Supper

Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of January 1, 2017

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: The library will be closed on Monday, January 1, in observance of the New Year’s Day Holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2. Peace Light in Ellwood City

In early December, the Peace Light began its journey from the Grotto of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The flame has been burning for over 1,000 years. Ellwood got the light by way of the Mason Dixon Boy Scout Council of Hagerstown, Maryland. You may get this light by bringing a candle to the DaySring Church on 6th Street on Saturday from 10a.m. to 1p.m. then Saturday at Habitual Vape & Skate Shop at 505 Lawrence Ave. from 1p.m. to 7:45p.m. The light will be at 123 Orchard Ave. on Sunday from 1p.m. to 3p.m.


ECR Presents the Winter Wine and Brew Fest

Not sure of what to get your loved one for Christmas? Ellwood City Revitalization presents the 2nd Annual Winter Wine and Brew Fest! Admission includes beer and wine tasting, entertainment, DJ, raffles and a Chinese Auction. Tickets make great stocking stuffers! Ellwood City Relay For Life Kickoff Party

Friday, January 5, 2018 7:00 – 11:00 P.M.  The Moose at 1400 Factory Avenue is hosting an evening of fun, facts and trivia to bring awareness to the public about Relay For Life right in Ellwood City.  You don’t have to be a Moose member; this event is open to the public. Join relay teams and committee members as we kickoff the 2018 event theme Super Heroes, Who is Yours? School Choirs to Perform Carols at Community Plaza

On Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 there will be two local choirs performing Christmas carols at the Community Plaza. At 10:30a.m. the Ellwood City Area School District Concert Choir will be performing, conducted by Felicia Greco, Senior High Choral Director, and at 11:30a.m. the Laurel Area School District Choir will be performing, conducted by Kristen Clingerman. Like all Community Plaza concerts, the event is free to attend.  


Free Clothing Closet Tonight

The Lillyville Church of God, 408 Hickernell Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117, is hosting a free Clothing Closet tonight from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
