Riverside Annual Haunted Hayride & Maze Scheduled

The Riverside annual Haunted Hayride, sponsored by Riverside Outdoor Athletic Renovation (ROAR) starts with a preview night on Thursday October 11th from 7:30-9:30p.m. The Haunted Hayride is one of several fundraisers conducted by ROAR throughout the year. Nearly 200 volunteers come together to create a fun event for the community, and over 1100 people enjoyed the experience. This year, Roar has had the assistance of a Riverside alumni, John Guerrini. Beaver County Chemical Recycling Event Planned

On Saturday, October 13, Bradys Run Park Recycling Center will have common household chemical recycling. Recycling will go on from 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. There will be a cash only fee of $3.00 per gallon, a few exceptions apply. The list of acceptable items include: aerosol cans, batteries, camp fuel/small propane bottles, chemistry sets, compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs), gasoline, kerosene, mercury, paint products, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, and brake fluid. Pesticides or herbicides like rodent killers, insecticides, weed killers, moth balls, and fertilizers will be accepted along with latex, oil, and alkyd based arts/craft…

Penn State Extension Lawrence County Holds 2018 Ag Encounter

Penn State Extension Lawrence County is hosting its annual Ag Encounter on Tuesday, October 2 and Wednesday, October 3 at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. Approximately 800 fourth grade students from the public and private schools in Lawrence County will participate. They will rotate through twelve stations where educators will teach them about local agriculture and livestock. Students will learn about agriculture in Lawrence County, its place as the leading industry in the county and the various steps get the food from the farm to their table. Eastern Star Soup Supper This Weekend

The Eastern Star Soup Supper will be held  this weekend.  The event will be Friday, September 28th from 12:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m and is open to the public. Historical Society To Plan ‘History on the Street’ Event

The Ellwood City Historical Society held a special meeting to prepare for the upcoming Ellwood City Fall Festival and Car Show. The Society decided to hold a display outside the History Center on Fifth Street. The event will be called, “History on the Street.”  Featured items will be the Ellwood Sign that has lighted the way for the Arts Crafts and Food festival for over 30 years. Municipal Women’s Club Host Las Vegas Impersonator Tim Beasley

The Ellwood City Municipal Women’s Club hosts the Las Vegas Impersonator Tim Beasley on Saturday, October 20 at 7:00pm with doors opening at 6:00pm. Event will take place at the SOI Hall on Lawrence Avenue.  Tim Beasley has 32 years of experience as a performer traveling the country doing shows in a variety of venues; including Las Vegas. Beasley will be performing a two hour show impersonating Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett. Ellwood City Community Enrichment and the Ellwood City Area Public Library hosted Ellwood City’s 17th Storytelling Festival on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Ewing Park. The festival is a beloved community event that had featured free activities for children and professional storytellers. Katy’s Homestyle Bakery, Custom Cakes by Jodie, and an ice cream truck had been set up for attendees to purchase sweets. There was also free balloon art, face painting, and horse-drawn trolley rides.
