The Moraine State Park Regatta planning is in full swing, and we are looking forward to belatedly celebrating the 50th anniversary of Moraine State Park, with three days of family-friendly fun beginning August 6, 2021. This year’s event may look a little different than past years, but the regatta is excited about its re-focused mission. Riverside Youth Football To Host Parents Night Out

A Parents Night Out will be held on July 31st at Mike’s Main Street to help benefit The Riverside Youth Football Organization. The event will start at 7:00 p.m. The cost of admission to the event is $2.00. There will be a live DJ, $2.00 jello shots, 50/50 raffles, a Last Man Standing Game, and $3.00 green Riverside shot. Fireworks to Provide Flare for Ellwood City

Fireworks will light up the night sky on Friday, July 2, beginning at 9:45 p.m. The Zambelli display will be set off at Stiefel Park this year. Organizer Eric Rayner said the fireworks were made possible at the last minute by Visit Lawrence County, which donated $1,000, Ellwood City Forge with a $2,000 donation, the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce providing a $500 donation, and the Festival Committee is picking up the tab for the police presence. He said Dan Vogler and Lawrence County Commissioners were monumental in helping him find the right organizations to make the event possible….

Ellwood City Locals To Play In Summer Concert

The Summer Concert Live season will be one of the first larger events to be held in downtown New Castle after the lifting of many COVID restrictions. With the concert series kicking off Friday, June 25th with New Castle’s ‘The Dorals’, a six-piece band performing music from the Baby Boomer generation, showcasing their talents. Their performance will be accompanied by a Classic Car Show, hosted by the Rapid Tappets Car Club. ‘Operation Adopt a Block’ Seeking Volunteers for June 26 Cleanup

Operation Adopt a Block will be in full force tomorrow as local leaders, officials, and residents gather to clean up Ellwood City. Justin Neupauer, owner of Alborn Tire Sales and leader of the event, said he is expecting about 50 volunteers but more are always welcome. “I am always shocked by the response of people who are willing to take time out of their day to volunteer,” he said. Ellwood City will be one of over 100 virtual locations to take place in the largest virtual game of catch next Wednesday June 30th. Jeff Potter of The Potter Baseball Tour, came up with this idea as a way to bring the community together have people of all ages participate in this once in a lifetime event. Moraine State Park To Host Butterfly Release

Come to Moraine State Park and release a monarch butterfly in honor of a special someone, in memory of a loved one, or just for fun! Monarch butterflies are now available for pre-purchase. If you want to release a butterfly, individual Monarchs are $15 each. It is strongly encouraged that you pre-purchase, as there may be limited individual butterflies for sale on-site.
