Jozek, the Ellwood City Borough’s first police, will retire at the end of this month after nine years of service. His career was honored during a ceremony at the borough council agenda meeting on Monday. Jozek has worked with Sgt. Michael McBride from week one of his training. Since 2007, Jozek has been involved in 247 arrests and 11 bite apprehensions, including sniffing out 789 stamp doses of heroin coated in grease and concealed in a secret compartment in a van.
