Confronting the Heroin/Opioid Epidemic in Pennsylvania

What: The Center for Rural Pennsylvania will hold its 10th public hearing to solicit testimony on confronting the heroin and opioid epidemic in Pennsylvania and how this epidemic is affecting our most rural counties. The hearing will be held at the Fez in Aliquippa, Pa. and will be hosted by State Senator Elder Vogel and State Senator Camera Bartolotta. Todd McDevitt, the organizer and host, was once a teenager who got into collecting comics thanks to his friend, Matt Brady. While still in high school, Todd became intrigued by the business side of comic books. His business started without an actual location as he simply sold comic books in school and through mail. Mayor Court Thanks Lawrence County Commissioners

On Thursday, Mayor Anthony J. Court was treated to a tour of the new Emergency Operation Center by Director Brian Melcer and Deputy Director Jeff Parish. Mayor Court wanted to extend his appreciation to the County Commissioners Dan Vogler, Robert Del Signore Jr. and Steve Craig for their help in obtaining radios for the Ellwood City Police Department without cost to the Borough, savings of about $35,000. Mayor’s Crime Watch and Advisory Meetings Rescheduled

The May 26, 2016 Crime Watch meeting and the Mayor’s Advisory meeting have been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The Crime Watch meeting  is rescheduled for Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. and the Mayors Advisory meeting is also rescheduled for Thursday, June 30 at 3 p.m.


Memorial Day Committee Extends Invitation to Participate
