Ellwood City Area Public Library: Activities for Week of October 31, 2016

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Tuesday, November 1, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. — Family Laptime, an interactive program designed for babies as young as 6 months old and preschoolers up to 5 years old. Turkey Dinner

First United Methodist Church, located at 416 Crescent Ave, Ellwood City, PA 16117, is hosting their 39th annual turkey dinner on Saturday November 5 from 4p.m.-6p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids aged 5-10, and free for children under 5. Tickets can be purchased from a church member or at the church office which is open Wednesday through Friday from 8:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. For more information call 724-758-6278


Venezie Sporting Goods Food Drive

Venezie Sporting Goods located at 512 Lawrence Ave, Ellwood City, PA 16117 is supporting the local food bank on Bridge Street by hosting a food drive from Oct. 24 through Nov. 18. Holiday Open House

Market Place on Main will be hosting a Holiday Open House on Friday November 4 from 10a.m. to 8p.m. and 5 from 10a.m. to 6p.m. In preparation for the festivities the Market Place will be closed from October 25-November 3.


Wampum Area Christmas Parade

It’s that time again and plans are underway for the “44th” Annual Wampum Area Christmas Parade. It will be held on Saturday December 3 at 1p.m. This event is sponsored by the Wampum America Legion Post 749, American Legion Auxiliary, Wampum Lions Club, Wampum Area Woman’s Club and Wampum Area Business Association. A special feature of the parade is giving treats by Santa to the children in the Wampum Area between the ages of 1-12 who have registered. Meet the Cast: The Little Mermaid

Lincoln High School will be performing The Little Mermaid as their musical this year. The high school was teetering between choosing The Little Mermaid or the Addams Family for the musical this year, but The Little Mermaid prevailed and the overall feeling about the final choice is excitement. Lincoln High School celebrated their upcoming play, The Little Mermaid, by hosting an “Under the Sea Extravaganza” last Saturday so kids could meet Ariel and all of her friends! The members of cast were dressed in character which provided an opportunity for children to take photos with their favorite characters. The cast also signed autographs in character.
