Fashion Show and Tea

The Ellwood City Art Club will be hosting an “April Fool Fashion Show and Tea” event, Saturday April 1, 2017 from 1p.m.-3:30p.m. The event will take place at Day Springs Gifts, 316 6th Street, Ellwood City, and will include tea, cookies, music, and entertainment. Proceeds go to producing a coloring book featuring new and seasoned artists from the local community. Adult tickets are $7, 18 and under are $5.


Ellwood City Area Historical Society Event

Do you have memories of the Perry School in Wurtemburg? What was it like when you went there?  Who were the teachers?  What interesting story would you like to tell? Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of February 20, 2017

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: The library will be closed on Monday, February 20, in observance of the Presidents’ Day Holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, February 21. Tuesday, February 21, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. Punxsutawney Phil and Staten Island Chuck Conflict Predictions

Many local residents have mixed feelings about the almost-famous Punxsatawney Phil’s New Year prediction of six more weeks of winter. Although on average, sunnier winter days, which are more likely to cast the groundhogs shadow, are usually correlated with chillier and dryer weather – the old tradition which started in 1887 is not as accurate as it is fun. Last year Phil did not see his shadow, meaning that spring should have arrived early, however, it really didn’t arrive any earlier than normal.
