Relay For Life Event Leadership Meeting Tuesday, June 6, 2017 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.  This is the final planning meeting for “Paint The Town Purple”, at the National Grind on Lawrence Avenue in Ellwood City.  We will be putting the final touches on the event schedule, vendor and team spaces on the street, Bark For Life in the Farmers market parking lot and many other important things happening during the event.  Please join us if you are a team captain to find out about team shirts and what teams need to know.   Paint the Town Purple Relay for Life…


The Sweet Shop Opening This Weekend

According to a live video posted by the owners of the Sweet Shop, the Lawrence Avenue shop is set to open this Saturday, June 3! They will be open from 8a.m. until the evening and will offer customers a variety of home made cookies, cupcakes, candy, chocolate covered fruit, and ice cream. “We are so excited and we hope Ellwood is just as excited as we are.” Watch their posted video below:


Faith Fellowship Baptist Church Seeks Youth for Vacation Bible School

Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, located right besides Domino’s Pizza in Ellport, is currently seeking students for their vacation bible school (VBS) during June 12-14. There is no cost for the VBS and a light snack will be provided Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday there will be a pizza party. Bible study is centered around learning about Jesus Christ while having fun participating in games, making crafts,  and being with other children/teens. Details for parents: Upon initial drop off,  please stop in to register your child in order to document emergency contact information as well as any specific allergies, etc….


VIDEO: Ellwood City Memorial Day Parade

The Ellwood City Memorial Day Parade was held Monday morning, honoring the men and women that died in military service for the United States of America. The parade started at 10 a.m. on the Veterans Memorial Bridge and concluded at the memorial park on Spring Avenue near Circle Playground with a free community picnic.


Ellwood City Farmers’ Market Set to Open for the Season

The Ellwood City Farmers Market located at the The Beaver Avenue Parking Lot (500 Block) will be opening again for the season starting this Saturday, June 3. A wide variety of things will be sold at the market mostly including homemade and organic items and food. The market will run every Saturday during the summer through October 7th from 8:00a.m. until noon. Live music from 9:00 – 11:00a.m. Free parking downtown.


Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for the Week of May 29, 2017

Wednesday, May 31, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Paint The Town Purple Survivor Luncheon Sunday, June 4, 2017 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. Windy Ridge Dairy to Host 6th Annual Milk Fest

Windy Ridge Dairy Farm is hosting their 6th annual Milk Fest on June 3. 6th Graders Participate in Array of Fun Activities at the Park-A-Palooza

The Chamber of Commerce held their annual Ewing Park-A-Palooza May 15 for all 6th graders from Hartman and Riverside. There were ten stations for the students to visit, designed to enhance the learning experience for the students in an alternative setting presented by volunteers. The students participate in several physical activities provided by the staff of Air Fitness that encourages team building and fitness.
