Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of October 2, 2017

 Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Monday, October 2, through Saturday, October 7 – The library’s Annual Book Sale will take place. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Monday will also feature a bake sale. A wide variety of books, DVDs, Audio CDs and more will be available at the sale. Ellwood City Fall Fest: 6,000 People Expected to Attend

If you thought last year’s Fall Fest was crowded, this year is expected to be even more populous according to Borough Manager, Bob Villella. “This year there is expected to be at least 600 vehicles at the car cruise and upwards of 6,000 in attendance. That’s an increase of nearly 2,500 people since last year,” Villella stated. Richard Hogue Replenishment Blood Drive 2017

This year’s Richard Hogue Blood Drive has been announced for the date of November 17, 2017 from hours 2p.m. to 7p.m. at the Ellwood City Family Center. The blood drive is in honor of Richard Hogue. REMINDER: Wing Bash Benefit Scheduled Saturday

A wing bash is being held at the Sons of Italy this weekend to benefit Anthony Tollari III, to pay for some expenses after an incident that left him paralyzed. In July, Tollari had a diving accident in his swimming pool which shattered his C5 vertebrae. He has had surgery and is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the hospital. He recently got his neck brace taken off and is continuing to making slow progress. The benefit has been organized to help his family with expenses related to getting Anthony home.
