Wampum Area Christmas Parade Treat Sign-ups

The Wampum Area Christmas Parade is on  Dec. 2nd 2017 at 1 pm.  As in previous years, children aged 12 and under can meet Santa after the Parade in the gymnasium and Santa will give them a treat bag.  However, children must be registered in advance for the treat bag.  Treat bags are free to Wampum area children. “Second Saturday” Soup Supper

The first soup supper for the season will be held on November 11th,  4 – 6:30pm Wurtemburg United Methodist Church 1244 Portersville Road  (Rt 488 by 3rd bridge) Ellwood City, PA  16117. Soups:  Ham ‘n Bean Soup and Beef Veggie Soup Includes:  Italian Bread, Homemade Rolls, Dessert, Beverages & Refills Eat-in and Take-out are both $6; under age 5 Free. Ellwood City Relay for Life Meeting

We are now accepting Halloween costume submissions for our annual costume contest! The last day to submit is Nov 2. All submissions will appear on our Facebook gallery page for voting beginning Friday, November 3rd and voting runs through Thursday, November 9th. The Rules: 1. Dress your kids up for Halloween! 2. Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of October 30, 2017

Activities at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Tuesday, October 31, at 10:00 a.m. — Family Laptime, designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. Wampum Light Up Night Announced

Wampum Area Business Association announces its Light Up the Town Night on Thursday, November 30, 2017 starting at 6:00 p.m. They will be dedicating the “all new over the street Christmas Decorations” that were purchased by donations from local businesses and the community. The evening will be highlighted by a horse drawn carriage ride through town, entertainment by Dance Expressions, Diamond Dance, Studio P, and the Northside Kindergarten Carolers.  The New Castle Clogger Club will also perform.  DJ Rockin Ryan will provide music throughout the evening. 14th National Take-Back Initiative

The Ellwood City Police Department in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)  has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take Back Day which will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., across the country.   This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused and expired prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications. Relay For Life Event Leadership Meeting Thursday, November 9, 2017 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. Paint Party for Retreat Fund

The North Sewickley Presbyterian Church Retreat Committee is hosting a Paint Party by artist Ken Cole on Saturday, November, 11, 2017 to raise money for the retreat fund to help pay for speakers and scholarships.
